Has MABUS arrived? (The Third Antichrist)
According to Nostradamus, Mabus is the identity of the 3rd antichrist:

CII, Q62
Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

CVI, Q33
His hand finally through the bloody ALUS,
He will be unable to protect himself by sea,
Between two rivers he will fear the military hand,
The black and angry one will make him repent of it

----------------------

But who is Mabus? Many names (including GWB and his momma) have been speculated as Mabus.

Within those who have a fetish for apocalypses and end-times prophecies, the most logical identity of Mabus would be the Imam Mahdi.

----------------------

Who is the Mahdi? He's the Muslim answer to the Second Coming of Christ.

http://www.mabus.biz/who/mahdi/

The Great Imam Al Mahdi is an Islamic belief that is prophesied by the Koran.

In a sense Imam Al Mahdi is the Muslim equal to the second coming of Christ for Christians. Most Muslims belief that Imam Al Mahdi will come back on Judgment day, will create world peace and lead the Islamic prayer in Mecca (Mekkah), and Jesus Christ will be at Imam Al Mahdi's side.

Be from among the family of Prophet
Among the descendants of Fatima
Have a broad forehead and pointed noise
Appear in one night; just before the day of judgment;
Have same name as hazrat Muhammad
Escape from Madina to Makkah
People will pledge allegiance to him;
Receive pledge and help of Iraqi people;
Fight in battles;
Lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus(pbuh) will follow in
Eradicate tyranny and oppression;
Spread justice and equity on earth;
Rule over the Arabs for seven years
Mahdi will have a broad forehead and a pointed (prominent) nose. He will fill the earth with justice as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. He will rule for seven years. (Abu Dawud, Sahih, Vol. 2, p. 208; Fusul al-muhimma, p. 275)

-------------------------------

For those of you really paying attention to this recent Iraqi election, behold the frontrunner:

"Alliance officials have indicated likely candidates were current Prime Minister Ibraham al-Jaafari, who heads the Islamic Dawa party, and Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who belongs to the other main Shiite party, the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq."

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20051228/D8EPEJOO4.html

--------------------------------

Interesting that the possible winner and uniter of the Shi'ites of both Iraq and Iran has the "Mahdi" name. Now take a look at his face. Do you see a broad forehead and prominent nose?

--------------------------------

Now before some of you get carried away here, read this precaution by a Muslim regarding Mahdi.

http://www.irshad.org/islam/prophecy/mahdi.htm

Throughtout the history of Islam, a few individuals -- driven either by the desperate state of Muslims in their community or a selfish pursuit of power and prestige -- laid claim to being Mahdi and found a following among the uninformed masses who were looking for salvation from the heavens. For some of these individuals (like Bab of Iran or Mirza Ghulam of India) the claim to being Mahdi was just a stepping stone to the development of heretic sects which broke away from the fold of Islam. Thus, it is at least prudent to visit the facts of this prophecy and avoid falling pray to false claimants that will appear from time to time.

5. I was just thinking when I read the lines that this Mabus guy is a wimp.
Just about every line gives a reason for him to be shaking in his boots. And I'm concluding that he must be white because the black one is going to kick his ass.

2. I think prophecy is just so much hooey
Nostrodamus was perhaps the most easily debunked prophet of them all. His verses are so obscure that it's easy to make his predictions fit events.

Same holds true for any prophecy of any revealed religion.

If there is REAL prophecy, it will give specifics. Tehre is not a single prophecy in human history that does so.

11. In addition, a number of bibical scholars now believe that the
"Book of Revelations" is actually a parable account of the Christians under the rule of Nero. To boot, the "mark of the beast" is not 666 but 616.

http://www.religionnewsblog.com/11134

Satanists, apocalypse watchers and heavy metal guitarists may have to adjust their demonic numerology after a recently deciphered ancient biblical text revealed that 666 is not the fabled Number of the Beast after all.

A fragment from the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament, dating to the Third century, gives the more mundane 616 as the mark of the Antichrist.

Ellen Aitken, a professor of early Christian history at McGill University, said the discovery appears to spell the end of 666 as the devil's prime number.
In Context
Daniel B. Wallace, Ph.D., Executive Director, Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts, responds to this article

The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable? by F.F. Bruce

"This is a very nice piece to find," Dr. Aitken said. "Scholars have argued for a long time over this, and it now seems that 616 was the original number of the beast."

<snip, more beast>

3. Mississippi had a Governor Mabus.
He was missing a his top lip (okay, it was a really thin top lip) and he was actually pretty wimpy, but I would not think of him as an anti-christ.

Edited on Wed Dec-28-05 05:31 PM by AntiCoup2K4
1) MAssachusetts BUSh - Although Chimpy himself was born in Connecticut and pretends to be from Texas, his family came from Massachusetts previously.

2) OsaMA BUSh - Nostradamus wrote of Bin Laden and Chimpy as one in the same because of all the family and business ties between the two.

Place the letters "OSA" at the beginning and an "H" at the end.

OSA-MABUS-H

IMO, there is good reason for the combined names. One cannot exist without the other.

Bêtes farouches de faim fleuves tranner;
Plus part du champ encore Hister sera,
En caige de fer le grand sera treisner,
Quand rien enfant de Germain observa.

However "Hister" was interpreted as a geographic location instead of the man before World War II. Goes to show how easy it is to interpret them, eh?

26. A fun thread.
I do think the thing that should give the most pause, however, is not Nostradumus.

The Mayans (and even the Hopis) have a calendar and it is interesting that it just stops in 2012 or 2013. Similar to the "N" predictions about this time.

It is probably all bullshit - we better hope so, anyway.

Good thread, though.

29. All Calendars Stop
Ours stop in December. Does that mean the end of the world is every December? (It's actually in January when the Xmas bills come in!)

If the Mayans and such had continued as civilizations, their calendars would have continued as well.

34. One thing about the Mayans
is that they had an understanding of astronomy well ahead of their time.Venus is key to their calendar divisions and no one knows how they had their grasp of the synodic periods of revolution of Venus back over 5000 years ago when they made this calendar.

I never heard 2013 as the end of their calendar, only 2012 and mostly winter solstice in 2012. Another nod to their astronomical understanding is that the Galactic center and equator, key in their mythology, will be precisely where the Sun is at the solstice for the first time in 2012.

I don't know for sure what they expected to come next but they are a fascinating study.

You are right, solstice of 2012 (December 22, 2012).

I just gave it a wide birth.

Largely, because I have a bad memory.

I think a lot of things about the native americans are facinating.

Best to you this New Year,

27. On the contrary... in Islam, it is the Mahdi that will be at Jesus' side..
Imam Mahdi is supposed to be someone who will actually shy away from the title but according to what I've been told, there will be a sign that will leave no doubt as to his identity... some sort of heavenly intervention. He is supposed to be the beginning of the restoration of Islam, a very important figure but NOT a prophet, and will step down once Jesus arrives.

IMHO, if the Mahdi is the anti-Christ, why would he be working side-by-side with Jesus? I think the only people making the claim that Mahdi = Mabus are the Bush-voting hypocritical fundie sect of Christians that already have something against Islam to begin with.

Now I personally don't give any credence to the prophecies of Nostradamus, but if one wants to read into the meaning of the name "MABUS," the History Channel actually had a good suggestion in one of their specials... they hinted that MABUS = USAMA + BUSH. Sort of like HISTER = HITLER. Makes more sense, IMO.

Thats our path...
Do you stand for Torture???
Do you stand for spying???
Do you stand for the Rich to get Richer???
Do you stand for the sick to not have healthcare???
Do you stand for War and being oppressors not liberators???

Americans are generous and wonderful people... I believe in them...
