The "white powder" Freeper - more info
Edited on Mon Nov-13-06 09:47 PM by hsher

This is pretty detailed and includes the search warrant:

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2006/11/the-castagana-correspondence-right-what-you-know.php

I am shocked finding out this twerp shares almost exactly the same birthday *right down to the same year, same month and same week* as the sci-fi crazed, angry freaktard who cyberstalked me within an inch of my life nine years ago. She was a Colorado resident and obsessed with a sci fi TV series, too. She became obsessed with me because I was about to start working with one of the series' actors, and she felt he was hers because she wrote fanfiction about him. Near the end of the thing, I even started getting scary phone calls from her where I worked. I'm so disturbed by this story, I'm unsure what to think right now. Same birthday... same birthday... O... M... F... G.

Glad this guy is under a jail somewhere. The stuff he did to all these people literally scares me to freaking death. The stuff he did to Jon Stewart makes me ANGRY.

6. And noodles Jefferson!
But I don't agree this is a waste of resources. I've been stalked by a person like this before. Getting unsolicited stuff like this in the mail from them, being harassed on the phone and by email by them is scary, SCARY business, and it is about time the FBI did something other than slap these freaks on the hand for it. They did NOTHING to stop the girl who stalked me in 97.

It took me handling it myself, doing my own detective work, and revealing to her employer she was using their computer and phone equipment to harass me. Which she was. Only then, after she got fired for that, did the harassment cease. She continues to stalk and libel me online almost ten years after.

It NEVER GOES AWAY.

I am glad the FBI used my taxpayer resources to stop this guy. He could have murdered Pelosi, Letterman, Olbermann or Stewart. Good job, FBI.

...and I'm sorry you endured that stalking. I got goosebumps reading your post.

Kudos to you for being so resourceful, and for getting her stopped.

That is some scary stuff and I'm sure this recent incident reminds you of your own turmoil with these kooks.

Glad you're ok!

20. Thank you so much... it has been very hard :(
It's been a nightmare. Imagine having your name smeared and having lies told about you online for almost a decade by a woman you've never met in your life, having complete strangers walk up to you and call you names because of it, having roommates go psycho on you because they read the lies on Google, having a former lawyer dump you as a client because they suddenly Googled you and found all these lies... and on top of that, the woman continues to spread lies about you and obsess about you... everything she reads YOU are doing, SHE decides to do... she found out I was a former cel animation producer and puts up a site announcing SHE is an animation producer... found out I did professional illustration and SHE puts up amateur illustrations... finds out you worked in Hollywood and puts up a site announcing SHE now runs a media production company... on... and on... and on...

AND SHE IS STILL DOING IT!

Just under the wire, the bare minimum she can get away with without my new attorneys going after her. I've had to put up with nine long years of it. And, read my post below about what sickens me the most. I even have a Jon Stewart connection, so this is cutting AWFULLY REAL SCARY CLOSE to me and my life in ways that bring up a lot of terrifying memories and fears. I won't sleep well tonight. I'm supposed to meet Stewart four days from now and I wouldn't blame him if he cancelled out on the meeting. It is in my former hometown, Los Angeles.

I am scared for him, scared for me, and scared for everyone who ever has to go through this. Hands down with zero arguments I believe stalking AND CYBERSTALKING should become homicide-level felonies. Being stalked takes a piece of your soul away and you NEVER get it back. Every day, you think about the person who stalked you. Why me? What did I do? Can I ever trust anyone again.

It is nonstop, low-grade terror like a cloud on your heart for the rest of your life.

Poor Jon :(
Poor Tracey :(

Thank you for understanding

Assume that the Feds are going to be giving his posts on Free Republic a thorough going-over.

They just might be serving a subpoena on Jim Robinson to turn over information FR has on this guy.

Slightly off-topic: This guy is thirty-nine years old, and lives with his parents?

11. Let me add, "Poor REAL Jon Stewart"
Did you see the filthy, evil message he sent the real Jon Stewart? It's a threat not just against him but a smear against Tracey. Hey: I'm a girl who loves herself some Jon Stewart, and sometimes the fact he's married gets on my nerves, but if this piece of sh*t did anything TO HURT THAT WOMAN, I would kill him seventy thousand times, raise his ass from the dead and kill the f*ck out of him AGAIN. I mean that.

37. I immediately thought of the "inverted jenny" too
But how would he have gotten hold of a Florida ballot?

And if the ballot was mailed from California, the return address and postmark would verify that fact. Doesn't sound like anyone will know as long as the ballots remain sealed.

It would certainly be poetic justice to think the freeper would be such a loser he would unknowingly mail off the rare stamp without knowing its value.

Ha! How come I never find one of those?

17. What's making me particularly sick about this is...
I wrote a spec screenplay for Jon Stewart back in spring and auditioned it to his management team, Dixon Talent. Jim Dixon, Jon's manager, told me Jon was not doing any features. The plot of the script was that Jon Stewart, playing a news anchor, was suddenly stalked by a violent conservative serial killer who hated news people and talk show hosts! Not only that: the serial killer HAD A LATINO-SOUNDING SURNAME! :wtf:

I hope the white vans in the night don't suddenly show up and come for me.

Seriously feeling sick tonight and puking :puke: at how closely reality seems to be following that screenplay I wrote innocently... and PS... Jon and Jim, if you're reading this, NO, I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED IN SHOOTING THAT PICTURE!

23. Here's my take on it
A potential serial-killer living in Woodland Hills, California, was caught mailing envelopes containing a white powder to Nancy Pelosi, Jon Stewart, Dave Letterman, and Keith Olbermann. The envelopes also contained threats. One, refering to slain talk show host Alan Berg, to me qualifies as a death threat against Jon Stewart because it was addressed to him, contained a photo of Berg, and said, "Remember Alan Berg? You need to." Alan Berg was a popular Jewish talk show host who was brutally slain by a team of white supremacists.

The letter to Stewart also contained a horrific photo of a dead Asian tsunami victim with a death erection. Scrawled on the photograph, for Stewart to read, was, "Jon Stewart, fuck your wife."

The guy who did this stuff, it turns out, has a LONG history of being a poster on several right-wing websites, not the least of which happens to be our darling Free Republic.

That's my extremely limited take on it.

24. Yes he is the guy who sent white powder to Keith O
and also to Jon Stewart and David Letterman and Nancy Pelosi. He is also believed to be a poster on free republic who has posted about sending anthrax to 'left wing Hollywood liberals'. FR was shut down for awhile today and rumor has it the FBI was checking out that website.

So he talked about doing this on line and then really did do it.

I think what the FBI agent filing the affidavit meant was either RIGHT wing hate rhetoric or anti-left wing hate rhetoric.

Either that, or there's an "eats shoots and leaves" problem.

28. What creates people like this?
I know that, in any given population, there will always be a certain percentage of aberrants. But what makes obsessive stalker-types? Is it simply the natural expression in a population that is rapidly growing? Is it a post-information age consequence, that we hear about every single one in exploitative news-ertainment? Some combination of these factors? Something else? What?

29. I'm beginning to think it's this:
Astrology.

Serious, no lie. This may sound nuts, but I was stalked almost a decade ago by a female sci-fi fan who shares this guy's exact same birthday: June 19, 1967. She did the same stuff, acted the same way, and finally got caught and (kind of) stopped. She became just as obsessed, thought herself just as clever, misused large words the same way... it's amazing.

I don't want to believe in astrology, but when one notices that Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler and Ayatollah Khomeini all shared birthdays within a week of each other (second check me on that last one, but I think AK did share that April 19-April 29 birth range), and now I see this hateful Dr. Who-loving stalker freaktard shares the exact same birthday with the hateful Dr. Who-loving stalker freaktard who tried to kill ME back in 1997...

... kind of makes me go, "Hmm"

33. I think astrology could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Certainly, it's been popular since these people were born. Perhaps they, after being told what they were supposed to be like because of their sign, began to act and think a certain way. This is not to mention their shared generational experiences since they had the same birthday - they were in the same grade when reagan took office, when the Challenger exploded, etc. I'm not suggesting astrology MADE them psychos, just that it could've served as a set of instructions that both interpreted the same way. It doesn't explain it entirely, but it is an interesting hypothesis.
