9. It's not so much what she says -
it's the fact that she says it without much conviction or force.....she practically whispers what she says while her opponent is talking over her.

She comes off like a doormat.....she makes ALL of us come off like doormats!

5. C-SPAN Doesn't Have Progressive Phone Numbers
I don't think I've seen a Progressive Democrat on all week. Almost every Democrat on the show has been a DLC'er or other beltway pundit. Brazille is part of that myopic and out of touch clique.

I also think this is subvertly racist as by putting Steele up there with Brazille, the impression is that Steel is the "face" of the Repugnican party.

I'm sure hoping someone can call in and ask Mr. Steele about all those homeless in Philly he bussed in to confuse voters in Baltimore.

in promoting the Dems.

7. What do you expect from the DLC?
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 08:03 AM by formercia
They are bound and determined to castrate the Progressive Movement in the Democratic Party and continue to perpetuate the failed corporatist/neocon/NWO agenda of Fearless Leader's Administration.

The DLC are losers and losers should not set the Democratic agenda.

DLC=PNAC

8. I still need people here to try and convince me
that democrats aren't too wishy and compromising because of DLC influence. I'm not trying to start something inflammatory, my concerns are real to me.

10. Let's start
with Leahy's agenda when he resumes the chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee: Restoring Habeas, investigations into Gitmo, stopping NSA warrentless spying, and much more. Is that wishy washy?

12. I am happy with Leahy and his attempts
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 08:07 AM by mmonk
(except he needs to protect legal citizens and immigrants from these round ups). I'm happy with most committee chairs in both the House and Senate except Lieberman. I just don't want them "moderated" by the others, so to speak.

16. I also want to remind you
that in reference to torture and arrest without charge, the MCA, the law that is the biggest breach of our constitution and laws had a few democratic signatures on it also (it should have had zero). I am happy of this victory, but the fabrication by some that the public gave us this huge wave of support looking for "bi-partisanship" in unnecessary. I'm not saying don't be bi-partisan in law making, I question why make someting up. Anyway, I guess living in America these last six years has made me into someone that questions things more ( I can't help it).

14. I know - very few come across as strong.
Wes Clark
Russ Feingold
Al Gore

Just about the only three I'd care to win a Dem nomination for president - excepting that Russ isn't running now and I doubt Gore will.

19. Valid concerns.
And it's not that all, or even most, are "weak." It's not about being disloyal to the party. But there are good reasons to have concerns about the direction that some in leadership positions want to head in.

That's why I believe our work didn't end Tuesday -- far from it. We saw the results of our investment, and we see that we have the potential to get this country back on track. But that means that we have to work hard to make sure that influences like the DLC are not disproportionate. We need to work even harder now to make the democratic party progressive.

21. I agree :-) - - but she is center-black before being a progressive Dem
I suspect it is the "center" or the DLC's corporate trust that damns her on DU, since her voice for the black community is appreciated on DU.

She got us a Dem Senator in Louisiana - albeit a center right one that is only a little to the left of our Nebraska Democratic Party Senator Ben Nelson
