Who would yourather have in control when US was attacked?
Interesting question by Jake Bernstein (I think) on cspan just now.

He said whenAmerica was under attack, Chrub was reading tofirst graders in fl, and Cheney was in the bunker beneath the WH.

WHO WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE IN CHARGE AT THAT TIME?

I found my thoughts interesting. I guess I have to say, if those are the only real choices, I prefer Cheney!

GOD I never thought I'd ever say I'd prefer that AH for anything, but I must admit, he's a lot smarter than Shrub!

4. As I understand it, he wasn't an option. Had to be the Prez, or
VP since the Prez was flying around the Country and hiding in a bunker somewhere.

8. If understand it correctly, he was the man that day.
I know everyone says AF1 can communicate with anyone at any time, but it sure didn't sound like that's what happened.

I think it was Unka Dick.

12. Research a little further. Unka Dick didn't do dick.
if LIHOP is correct, he WANTED the terror strike to proceed. He just wanted to be sure he wasn't one of the victims.

10. The decisions he claimed to have made were made by others.
Always remember, Cheney does not now and never has cared how many die because of his decisions.

11. None of you seem to understandthe protocal.
The man in charge is the Prez, whether you like it or not! If he is not available, as in flying to a bunker somewhere, the alternate option is Unka Dick! You have no other options!

I would have a lot of other choices too, but those were not any options.

9. Attacked which time? The US was attacked several times over the years
but this is the only time we have had to be reminded of the event over and over again each and every day for five years.

13. I was talking about Sept. 11 attack. As far as I know, that was the
only attack where we had cause to believe there would be more attacks in the immideate future and had to make some serious decisions.

14. I think Webb would have been a good person to have been
in charge. He is one smart man. But I don't think 9/11 would have happened if he had been president. He would have been too on top of things.

19. Ok so there is reality and the wish list
Reality would say the choices were:
1) Shrub - Bwahahahaha - the "man" who, when told "America is under attack", sat for 7 minutes doing nothing. No apologising to the children, delegating the story telling to someone else before getting up to do his job. Seven minutes - in the good old days of the Soviet Union that would have meant he would be a whisp of smoke.

2) Unka Dick - Heart attack man carried down to the bunker under the White House.

3) Dennis Hassert - please don't laugh, the Speaker of the House is 3rd in line; so it might have been Dennis "I don't see anything wrong in what's happening to the Pages, so let me finish my lunch" Hassert.

OK I'm a Brit so my choice (shudder) would be Mr Cheney.

Are you scared yet?

I am afraid you have to assume the attack would have gone ahead in any event, so what would the Wish List be?
1) Wesley Clark, could you see a President Clark sitting for 7 minutes after being told "America is under attack"?

2) Gore, the actual winner - though I know little about his history

3) You have to add a Republicans because they were on an upswing so - Colin Powell

4) McCain

2. Close your eyes
3. Throw the ball

Whoever it hits would have done a better job than Bush did.
