Understanding the RW - "My dog barks some..."
"My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me. WOOF! "

Memorable Quotes from Wild at Heart

The RW has boxed itself so far in it can only imagine things in a linear fashion.

Art outside of it's limited scope is not understood and condemned. Science which does not follow it's beliefs is pushed outside the box.

Above we have Pete Martell from Twin Peaks appearing in Lynch's 'Wild at Heart' summing it all up in a nice way (to me) and a very deep way. I refer to Pete instead of Jack Nance because I loved that character he played - he did a damn fine job!

I say something, like 'Gay', and you and I have a whole different mental image than a RW'er has. The same goes for liberal, abortion, terrorism, etc.

Understanding the dog they see barking says a lot about them (as a group). One has only to pick up on the key words they use about gays to see how limited their scope is mentally.

They built a fence around their images, and will die trying to keep out 'illegal' images from entering their minds - for fear they will be overcome and lose the few things they are able to hold on to.

Expansion is the enemy. Cling to one small thing and close the lid. And then work hard to make sure everyone else has the same small box, lest theirs overlaps yours and you learn.

Me, I tore down most my fence and am awaiting new ideals so that I can grow in the light.

3. when rwingers hear "terrorist" they think of
a Doberman, or a pit bull.

We see a mean little pomeranian. He's loud, a bit scary in his viciousness, and he'll eventually chew a hole in your ankle if you let him, but the chances of him causing fatal damage are about even with the chances of dying by... i dunno... a terrorist attack maybe.

Do I get it?

:)

4. LOL pretty much :)
They see the issues we do as toto, and then they make up fear based issues with rottweilers to scare people into locking their doors and not coming out.

You put it well indeed.

6. Very insightful
We're baffled why they don't see things rationally. It's because they can't. Anymore than a fish can ride a bike or a snake can tap-dance.

7. Full Denial...They're Headed Into More Darkness
The damn problem with hating is you always need someone new to hate...someone to demonize to once again prove one's "virility". The right wing hate machine was built on tearing down strawmen and "liberals" to the point that it became a cartoon. Their once vivid image of the Hippy has vanished as the 20 year old screeds no longer apply to their enemies...especially Democrats.

As people who need to blame others for their own messes, their rhetoric is sure to get shriller...and like a little child who isn't getting the attention they once had, they'll try to scream louder to get the attention. While some, like the corporate media, will play into these tantrums, finally I believe a majority of Americans are tired of this crap and are starting to react negatively to it.

That vote on Tuesday was as much to repudiate the hate radio spewers, the telepundits and other water carriers of the far right. Their bullying tactics didn't work. Their fear mongering didn't work. Their ridicule didn't work. But, as we see in the post election anal-isis, many on the right, especially the corporate media haven't picked up on the repudiation of the bombastic vitriol these goons use and used to intimidate. Tuesday, Americans said they're no longer afraid.

I hope the wingnuts continue to yap and make noise. They've lost credibility and many now view them in a very negative light. This is a race to the bottom that Democrats need to stay far away from. Not that we shouldn't attack when attacked, but we no longer will tolerate the bullying. Last Tuesday, a majority of America called the Repugnican and the Right Wing on its bullshit...and hopefully we won the first of many big victories.

Cheers...
