Well I listened to some Right Wing Hate radio for the first time in 2 years.
I listened briefly to 2 different shows, first a bit of Hannity, then several minutes of a wingnut named Mark Levin.

Hannity seemed to vacillate between complaining about the people who were "made happy" by the election result (Al Qaeda, Hugo Chavez etc.) and trying to put on some kind of "serious" hat examining where the Republicans have gone wrong and need to improve, which mostly consisted of runaway spending in his view (unnecessary wars, human rights violations, torture, and moves towards dictatorship of the executive didn't seem to enter into it for him).

Levin was filled with hate and anger. His voice sounded a little like Drudge, so that's who I thought it was initially. He dwelled on the "look who's happy about the result" thing, and seemed very bitter about the prospect of Waxman and others investigating malfeasance by Bushco, without actually adressing that there are substantive wrongs to investigate, and went on a "why don't you investigate Reid real estate deals, Feinstein's husband's investments in China" etc.

He made a point of repeatedly saying "Democrat" as an adjective instead of "Democratic", sometimes several times in one sentence, and seemed to make a point of using the "Democratic" adjective just so he could do this.

This "look how happy the terrorists are about the election" seems to be what hate radio is promoting, which is a variation on the "Democrats are appeasing the terrorists/have the same goal as the terrorists" line. Little or no self reflection about America rejecting the hate soaked product. Just more hate. Little concern about the fact that the majority of voters have rejected Republicans, since their listeners are Republicans anyway, they continue to demonize, indirectly or directly, those who would dare vote against or oppose them.

1. Are these right-winger talkshow hosts spokesmen for the terrorists?
They sure seem to speak for them a lot.

LOL!
Yes, and it didn't seem to work for them in the election, so I don't know why they are still pushing those talking points.

2. Hahahaha!!
That's great. We should use the term 'Repubic' (no, that's not a misspelling) every time one of these losers sayd 'Democrat' instead of 'Democratic'.

5. They keep bringing up the Reid real estate deal,
because they can't think of anything else, and I yell at the radio, "they aren't investigating anything because there is nothing to investigate. Both the Nevada state and FBI have both said there is nothing to investigate. I suppose they are both liberal organizations now. However, your boys might get investigated because THEY COMMITTED CRIMINAL ACTS."

6. Sometimes when people have an allergy to something...
...they also have a craving for it. It makes them sick and feel bad but they crave it...even if they KNOW it ain't good for them.

These guys seem to think that since hate sells, maybe MORE hate will sell even better...even though people are realizing what's making them 'sick' and making 'healthier choices' :P
Eventually, they're going to lose their audience through sheer attrition.

JMHO...

7. It really makes you wonder how profitable these RW talk shows are.
Most of the ads I hear are the get-rich-quick and miracle diet type ads you would associate with infomercials during graveyard shift hours. You don't hear much if any sponsorship from what I'd call "mainstream" advertisers.

It's just a theory, but I think Clear Channel and these other RW conglomerates keep the Limbaughs and Hannitys on just to keep the RW message on and keep any dissenting messages off. At their own peril, I hope.

I think Clear Channel has done more to fuck up radio than any single entity I can think of, from their oversaturation of RW hate radio to their syndicated music shows that have no personality.

11. RW politics aside, Clear Channel has KILLED popular music radio. Dead.
It wasn't going all that strong before CC, but it's dead dead dead now.

14. RW hate radio is oversaturated
CC is even changing the format of the AA station in Madison WI. That is an ideal market for that format. It is going to a second Fox Sports station in the market.

10. I heard a few minutes of RW hate today
(don't know who was spilling the venom - maybe this Levin guy). Anyway, whoever it was was going on and on about the al Qaeda letter. You DO know that al Qaeda is happy that the Democrats won, don't you?! The letter proves it!

15. This is all for the benefit of whatever's left of the "base".....
The American people spoke loudly & clearly on Tuesday. And if Hannity, et al want to do an honest analysis of the "thumpin" they took, then they should dissect why every group they won handily in '04, went heavily for Dems this go round. Let's face it, they obviously don't wield the same power as they did in prior election cycles.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that RW radio's ratings have declined right along with Bushco's. Rush let the cat out of the bag the other day when he admitted that he had "carried water for these guys", in other words he didn't believe the shit he was feeding his own audience. If that's not an insult to the dittoheads, I don't know what is.

16. Believe me, it was by ACCIDENT ---
but I caught a snippet of Michelle Malkin on TV last night and she was actually having trouble controlling herself ranting about how Waxman was supposedly just, "rubbing his hands with glee" at the prospect of "vengeance" on the Republicans. The pent-up anger, scorn, arrogance and hatred exuding from her was palpable.
