DEAN's DNC Response To Carville
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 06:36 PM by kpete
DNC RESPONSE TO CARVILLE:
Howard Dean spokeswoman Karen Finney emails the following in response to James Carville's comments below:

After the Republicans have admitted to a thumping, why is it that the only one complaining on the Democratic side is James Carville, who today in addition to trashing Howard Dean, praised the RNC, the outfit that brought us the racist ad that defeated Harold Ford, James' supposed candidate for Chair?

Perhaps he's not aware that under Dean in this midterm election the DNC has raised record cash --- all hard dollars -- including three times as much from major donors, eight times as much online and made a $30 million investment in the '06 cycle, three times as much as the DNC put into the last midterm. Not to mention we made an $8m overhaul of our voter file which was successfully used in 47 states and through the 50 state strategy invested in states like Pennsylvania, Kansas, Indiana and Montana where we had critical victories on Tuesday.

29. boy, no kidding. I remember when he used to be a fighter
"We're right, they're wrong," and all that. But by the end of the Clinton administration he'd been an insider for too long.

Don't be so bipartisanship that you give in to your enemies, Carville. The GOP doesn't deserve praise for anything.

28. It's standard DLC operating procedure.
It's not just Carville. It's everyone from Al From's desk on down. Every DLC mouthpiece has tried to make this election victory all about their illusion of "centrism" (read CORPORATISM) and to strip all credit from Howard Dean, and the 50 state strategy which he talked about openly on the 2004 campaign, and has now implemented successfully, with a congressional landslide so big that even Diebold couldn't stop it. (and dozens of documented incidents suggest that they tried)

The DLC and their partners AIPAC want to dominate this party's agenda. They despise the fact that candidates won this election who specifically spoke out against things like the Patriot Act, so-called "free" trade initiatives, and the PNAC created foreign policy insanity including the Iraq quagmire.

32. Wow...there is still so much about my own party that I didn't know.
I'm hoping Dean can withstand the assault and hang in there. So many people are behind him.

35. The DLC supported the failed policy of PNAC
thus, it has no right to set the agenda, having been on the losing side of the election:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Leadership_Council

--snip--

The 2003 Invasion of Iraq

The DLC gave strong support for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Prior to the war, Will Marshall co-signed a letter to President Bush from the Project for the New American Century endorsing military action against Saddam Hussein. Despite the DLC's centrist pretenses, the organization spared no criticism of anti-war voices. During the 2004 Primary campaign the DLC attacked Presidential candidate Howard Dean as an out-of-touch liberal, because of his anti-war stance. The DLC has dismissed other war critics such as filmmaker Michael Moore as "Anti-American" and members of the "loony left"<3>. Even as domestic support for the Iraq War plummeted in 2004 and 2005, Marshall called upon Democrats to balance their criticism of Bush's handling of the Iraq War with praise for the President's achievements and cautioned "Democrats need to be choosier about the political company they keep, distancing themselves from the pacifist and anti-American fringe."

4. Not that it deserves a response
but I'm glad he did. Furthermore Harold Ford in my opinion would be a disaster in any party post. No personality no sense of humor. Not inspiring as a speaker. Definitely not ready for prime time. Carville is a never was that has managed to self promote his way into the corporate media. If I never have to see his cutesy poo hick act again it'll be too soon for me.

27. He blabbed his fat mouth and screwed Kerry's position not to concede.
Now his fat mouth is in overdrive again, trying to get rid of one of the best things that ever happened to the Democratic Party.

Carville, stuff a sock in it. But be sure to put a darning egg in the sock first.

He can praise Emanuel if he wants, but he should give Dean credit - and now he's BASHING Dean? Shameful when we should be united.

Is Matalin rubbing off on Carville?

39. After what Woodward said about him telling his WIFE
about the voting situation in the 2004 Stealing of the Presidency, I am finished with this turncoat.

Finished.

Of all the stinging statements in the book, to think that he told what was happening in the Kerry Camp is beyond dirt to me.

Kick him out of the party, don't trust him another minute.
