So you thought there would be some bi-partisanship?

Fat chance.

The Bolton nomination, which has been shot down, is back. Bush has re-nominated him to continue destroying the UN after Bolton couldn't win passage with a republican controlled congress.

So after an election day where America told him to back the fuck off, Lord pissypants thinks it would be a good idea to poke a stick in the eye of congress by re-nominating that asshole ance again.

What EXCATLY is the message here?

1. Bi-partisanship is a dirty word. "Voters - not a majority opinion"

Question: Also, why does he think this mandate from the voters doesn't mean to pull out?
Snow: Because I don't think that's a majority opinion.

2. You want the message? Here it is.
See electorate. See American people.

They were all partisan and bitter and vicious in 1994. We on the other hand are showing you we are willing to put the people's business first.

But what do they do? They fuck all that up and try to push in Bolton. With the pressure from some Repubs against this nomination it will fail. But what American people does this show you?

They are still arrogant bastards the same ones you voted out of office and they have not learned.

That is the message and the lesson learned.

3. I never thought that for a minute.
My only concern is that our leaders will fall for this crap. Their idea of cooperation and bipartisanship is all a one way street. They will fillibuster and veto anything we do while demanding that we pay attention to their hideous agenda.

The Bolton renomination was a clear indication of just how the thugs intend to play this game.

5. From what I've seen over the past week from Speaker Pelosi
I get the feeling that we could not have a better person to see through their bullshit. There was a photo of bush giving a little flirty smile to Madame Pelosi (I believe he thinks he's a ladies' man) and I could practically see into her mind - "if this was a bar and you came near me I'd throw a drink in your face".

7. Perhaps the ploy is to use the Democrats to get rid of
Bolton. Then a new person can be presented to make the Republicans look good. After all, Bolton is no success story for the Republicans.

8. What EXCATLY is the message here?
It's a simple one. One that was stated loudly by New Gingrich in the '90s and the Repukes still live by today, "It's my way or the highway." They are not going to change even after the "thumpin'" they took on Tues. Hell they even paraded Armstrong Williams on MSNBC this morning.

10. I don't think Congress is that stupid
Bush might be, but Congress is not.
They might be Lame Duck, but many are up for re-election in 2008.
Ramming through legislation that is bad for the country in a Lame Duck session would be paramount to political suicide.

11. What fun!
Can you imagine Bolton being questioned by a Senate committee headed by a Democrat. Of course, Bush is going to get the advice and consent on Bolton before the Democrats take over, but he and his staff had better plan to spend a lot of time in D.C. once the Democrats are in charge.

Here is an important, but overlooked story:

The General Assembly resoundingly criticized the United States on Thursday for maintaining sanctions on Cuba for nearly four decades and urged Washington to lift them as soon as possible.

The nonbinding, Cuban-drafted resolution passed with 167 votes in favor - the widest margin in the nine years that Cuba has brought the initiative to the United Nations. Only the United States, Israel and the Marshall Islands voted against it. Four countries abstained.

The resolution, introduced by Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque, was nearly identical to ones approved in years past, even though U.S. legislation approved last month would allow sales of American food and medicine to the communist island for the first time in nearly 40 years. But the law bars the federal government or U.S. banks from financing the shipments, meaning Cuba would have to pay cash or get credit from a third country.

This is a huge defeat for Bolton. He is not only bigoted and mean, but also totally ineffective. A hot air bubble that is all Bolton is. Under the Bush administration, the U.S. has lost the respect and support of even our NATO allies. We are going to pay a big price for his idiocy. This vote is a censure for the U.S. It could not have happened under any president since Roosevelt, maybe even since Wilson. What you think about the embargo is or whether the embargo is right is not the issue here. Our allies used to vote with us for whatever reason, fear, affection or humor, but now they don't. This is huge. And Bush did this to the U.S.

12. The MESSAGE is: "If you Democrats reject Bolton, YOU will be
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 10:19 AM by WinkyDink
accused of being partisan! HAHA!!"

It is a DARE, a TEST, a typical PSYCHOPATH'S PLOY, and I jest not (from "The Gift of Fear"): Will the FIRST attempt be accepted? If "yes", then the psychopath HAS YOUR NUMBER.
