David Brooks: Election a "rejection of liberal bloggers and fair trade advocates"
David Brooks, http://select.nytimes.com/2006/11/09/opinion/09brooks.html?th&emc=th spins the Democratic victory as all about the blue dogs and a repudiation of the liberal bloggers:

“So voters kicked out Republicans but did not swing to the left. For the most part they exchanged moderate Republicans for conservative Democrats. It was a great day for the centrist Joe Lieberman, who defeated the scion of the Daily Kos net roots, Ned Lamont.”

And:

“If Democrats are going to take advantage of their victory, they will have to do two things. They will have to show they have not been taken over by their bloggers or their economic nationalists”

------

Naturally the Blue Dogs (and Rahm, Pelosi, and Clinton, who are solidly in the neoliberal camp) will agree. They see the netroots as a threat even though the netroots are only slightly less affluent than the neoliberals.

Folks defending Rahm by saying "he didn't say that" or "there was no daylight between Rahm and Dean at that Capitol Hyatt celebration party" (ahem) --

-- sound like people defending Ken Mehlman's decision to remain in the closet.

3. Keep spinning those delusions, Dave.
Bad news for you Dave....soon, the old media will be gone and you will become just another hack who'll fail in the only true free-market of the written word...the internet. Alas, you won't have your subsidized position from which to pontificate your RNC talking points. There's always a need for street sweepers after the elephants parade by, though.
