Dr Dean: You say you want to straighten up our elections?
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 04:33 AM by SoCalDem
Here's how you do it.

If standardized TESTING is ok for schools all over the country even though states run their own schools, the same analogy should/should apply to elections that are for NATIONAL offices (meaning service in DC)

a SEPARATE BALLOT ...standardized and distributed to ALL states, well in advance of the elections (no typo goofs or cut-off names)

This ballot would never have more than THREE selections on it.

Whatever the states wanted to do is THEIR business, but I can assure you that there are very few calls to the hotlines or people protesting in the streets when the city council seat in Chillicothe, Missouri is is question.

If the states want to use their diamond-studded Diebolds , that's their business, but anyone who appeared to vote would get TWO ballots..

The one for national office ..house..senate..president

They mark 2 or 3 boxes with a Sharpie pen, and deposit it themselves into a locked ballot box.

At the end of the day, the poll workers could use a chalkboard and some chalk...

They remove the ballots, count the NUMBER of ballots, and if that total matches the number of people who signed in, they just count the votes for those THREE offices, call in to results, secure the ballots, and then they count their local and state ballots howvere they want..

Easy..secure..and infinitely recountable..

4. Sharpies are the best pen around..unless you make a mistake
That ink NEVER comes out :scared: that's why it's good for voting.... No mistaking that mark :)

3. Also.. each column has to have a "no vote" option
so protest votes could be registered:)
