I was at the Kirsten Gillibrand victory party last night in Saratoga, NY. It was such an unbelievable rush to be there for the victory of our district.

Come dance at BSP in Kingston to celebrate this Saturday Night, Nov. 11th at 9 PM!

Earthbeat is scheduled to play at BSP’s “Post-Election Blowout”, the first weekend dance party following the election. The group plays Latin, Afro-Pop, Reggae and Afro-Celtic. It's all World Music and very danceable. The members sing and play violin, mandolin, electric guitar, electric bass and drums.

The Earthbeat Victory Dance will take place Saturday, November 11, at 9M in the Front Lounge Gallery at Backstage Studio Productions. The address is 323 Wall Street in Kingston (845 338-8700).

This has been the most thrilling elections, perhaps in my lifetime (and you're talking to a guy who stuffed envelopes for McGovern in '72 (@ age 7).

Kirsten Gillibrand may arrive in Washington, D.C., as one of more than 30 in the freshman class, but she's already well-connected in Democratic party politics.

The Greenport resident staged a come-from-behind victory over incumbent U.S. Rep. John Sweeney, R-Clifton Park, in the 20th Congressional District. Now, some of the same people who helped the Democrat get elected -- from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to fellow U.S. Rep. Michael McNulty -- will be in a position to aid the first-year legislator.

"Kirsten is going to have a very solid relationship right from the very start," McNulty said. "I think you'll see Kirsten getting a lot of support from our leadership, and the important thing is that leadership isn't minority leadership any more. It's majority leadership."

McNulty, who becomes the longest serving House member to represent Albany in history, is on the House Ways and Means Committee and will chair one of its subcommittees.
