It's a beautiful day in the (DU) neighborhood!
I feel a lightness of spirit and intense joy which I haven't had since before Selection 2000. Hope has arrived in spades. It's like being told one has a terminal disease and 6 months to live, only to find out the lab results were wrong! Life is sweet again. We've been given a second chance and cannot squander it.

Now that we know how close to the abyss we came, it's important to fight harder than ever to preserve this democracy. There's so much to be done, but I have faith in my Democratic leaders again. I believe they also know what a close call this has been. Yes, we still have Dimson and Darth to deal with but I believe they are largely paper tigers now. Once the hearings begin the truth will come out and they will be forced out of power. I think they will have to resign in order to prevent the facts about their criminal and traitorous shenanigans from being exposed. Possibly a deal under the table will take place, allowing them to quit before impeachment proceedings begin. I'd like to see them in the Hague, but resignation will be OK too. Anyway, that's my fantasy and vision for today. This is the kind of day that makes me feel anything and everything is possible! After all, we have just accomplished the impossible!
:)
