SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE! Britney Spears files for divorce
This is rich, on the day that voters are asking to certify the "sanctity of marriage" in some states. Ms. Spears can drunkenly marry hither and thither, but I can't marry my partner of 22 years.

====

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears filed for divorce Tuesday from Kevin Federline, officials said. The Los Angeles County Superior Court filing cites "irreconcilable differences," said court spokeswoman Kathy Roberts.

Spears, 24, married rapper Kevin Federline, 28, in 2004. They have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son who was born Sept. 12. The divorce papers identify the baby as Jayden James Federline.

A message left with Spears' attorney, Laura Wasser, was not immediately returned.

Spears married Federline eight months after ending a 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to her childhood friend,
Jason Alexander. Her second marriage has provided endless fodder for tabloids, which have speculated frequently that the union was in trouble.

1. But why isn't she doing what the President tells her to do?
He doesn't condone divorce and she says we should listen to what he says!

2. Not defending her, but she has lived her whole life in a fish bowl...
How on earth is someone supposed to be normal with that?

However, marrying morons doesn't help her cause.

8. She's got a lot of growing up to do.
But she's probably best off without the idiot in tow.

Hopefully, she'll fade into oblivion.

9. Well, at least this one lasted longer than 48 hours.
Yes, you could cut the irony with a chainsaw. I hope the voters in Tennessee, Wisconsin, etc. pick up on it.

11. I doubt it
As long as you have the proper equipment, the "sanctity of marriage" is yours to destroy.
