3. I am trying to think of a synonym for "idiot"

that more accurately conveys the sense of abysmal, brain-curdling, industrial-strength stupidity that Roy Blunt has just exhibited. "Idiot" is just too ordinary. You call somebody an idiot when he cuts in front of you in traffic without signalling. "Idiot" just doesn't do it. Blunt's stupidity isn't like that. It isn't just garden variety stupidity. It's monumental, cosmic. Blunt is the mother of all asshats. I just wish there were a better word for that kind of stupid.
