Can you picture Kerry coming back at Bush with this:
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 08:34 PM by BigBearJohn

What Kerry SHOULD say:

"The President was on his soapbox today suggesting
that my statement about him was somehow "insulting and shameful."

And this from the same man who would say,
"Too many OB/GYN's aren't able to practice their
love with women all across the country."

And he has the audacity to lecture ME on what's
insulting and shameful?

My God, this President has uttered more inane statements than any politician in history."
Talk about insulting and shameful -- if this wasn't so pathetic,
it would be laughable... just like his presidency.

9. It's only "unclear" if you're very stupid or intentionally pretending to misunderstand.
Kerry's original statement and his response were perfect.

10. One would think Kerry would be more mindful about how what he says...
... may be misinterpreted, given how many times the meaning of previous statements have been reported incorrectly.

I think a better example from Bush of insulting and shameful statements that he has made related to our military which are deserving of an apology are the jokes he made about WMDs at the 60th annual dinner of the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association.

At a black-tie dinner for journalists, Mr Bush narrated a slide show poking fun at himself and other members of his administration.

One pictured Mr Bush looking under a piece of furniture in the Oval Office, at which the president remarked: "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be here somewhere."

After another one, showing him scouring the corner of a room, Mr Bush said: "No, no weapons over there," he said.

And as a third picture, this time showing him leaning over, appeared on the screen the president was heard to say: "Maybe under here?"

The audience at Wednesday's 60th annual dinner of the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association obviously thought the quips hilarious - there were laughs all round - but the next morning, in the cold light of day, things looked far less amusing.

The joke about the fruitless search for Iraqi WMDs so far, Washington's prime justification for the US-led invasion, has been branded as tasteless and ill-judged.

And my favorite Bushism by far is:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

http://www.slate.com/id/76886

Personally, I think Kerry is capable of defending himself - his follow-up statements so far have been sufficiently on target.

Overall it's probably best to drive home the failures of the Bush/Republican Congress rather than get caught up in some word parsing contest.

We simply just CAN'T let him get away with that.

16. Bush lecturing someone on his mistatements is like...
Rush Limpbaugh lecturing someone on drug abuse.

"Dr." Laura lecturing on sexual morality and family values.

Any Republican lecturing on the sanctity of life (hello, people DIE in wars).

Mark Foley lecturing on protecting kids from online predators.

Bill O'Reilly lecturing on history.

12. Recommended.

Never Forget: George W. Bush willfully violated National Security to cover-up his willful launch of a war of aggression and illegal occupation of Iraq.... and, if you doubt it, just check 'the google' ...

I'll tell you what is really shameful and insulting...his presidency.
