NAMBLA is a joke
The name is so contrived, it's laughable. It's explicit enough that the densest of morans can understand the frightening threat of men preying on boys (Boyz to Men?)

Nambla is being bandied about and thrown around in republican conversations when they want to shock and scare the sheeple into voting for them. They are attacking the ACLU for defending NAMBLA members.

Gay marriage is not the hot topic it was once--nor are OBL, or Saddam, or 9/11 or Iraq--actually, there's very little that is NEW and scary from Republicans other than NAMBLA.

I believe that NAMBLA exists. I believe that there are a few totally sick people who belong to NAMBLA but that those people did not start the organization--instead, NAMBLA was started to attract the sick M...F..'s who belong.

I think NAMBLA is what we got after the Cons' campaign against internet sex failed.

One thing is for sure with Republicons, they will exploit sexual issues--be they gender based, pedophilial or adulterous. What I wish were certain is that Americans would see this exploitation for what it is.

2. Though I'm no expert, I'm pretty sure NAMBLA existed before the internet.

11. I'm on board. It's too perfect a foil.
Besides, Republicans get to think about the idea and hate the idea and hate themselves for thinking about it and relieve that hate by hating additional people. NAMBLA sets up a positive hate feedback loop in Republicans. It's a rage stoker. Closes the mind and calls the faitful. It's like fresh brains to zombies.

7. B.S. If you think the limits of human sexual desire are limited you are naive.
There are more than enough grown men with a desire for young boys. There are also more than enough grown men with desire for young men. Whereas NAMBLA is rather obvious in their desires, I believe they advocate the reduction of age limits to the point of abolishing them, Others simply advocate the reduction of age limit to 16...or 15...or 14. This is a very divisive issue in the gay community.

Never underestimate the length and breath of human sexuality and desire. You will always be surprised.

9. You are missing my point. Pedophiles will always exist with or
without NAMBLA. There is no denying that.

NAMBLA has become a way-too-convenient way for Republicons to lump them all together in one disgusting cesspool that they can point to and use as a means of distraction from way more important issues IMHO.

13. NAMBLA created itself. I do not see where it is a Rep + and not a Dem +_
I don't know of many Dems that back NAMBLA.

10. Yep. That's what I am referring to, they use NAMBLA
they don't do a fricking thing about NAMBLA--which should be illegal by the way. They just talk about it to disgust and distract people.

12. They never had more than 300 members
And they were never very influential.

Nowadays, they are reduced to the point of invisibility, for obvious reasons.

Gay groups would do well to distance themselves from groups that glorify pedophilia, especially when gay culture is so often wrongly accused of being synonymous with pedophilia.

And they have been.

14. That reminds my of the Phelps clan. They have never had more than 60 members.
Only family and fools, and even then they have a hard time finding fools.

16. Good point
For every extreme point of view, there are those who would amplify their numbers for political purposes.

However, the Phelps clan seems to go out of their way for publicity.

17. "Seems" is either putting it mildly or politely. I am not practiced in the former...
and they don't deserve the latter.

15. NAMBLA has always equaled FreeRepublic.
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 12:27 AM by JackBeck
They're both noxious fringe groups that have no party power.

On Edit: I've also seen many a thread that creams over the older female teacher seducing the younger male student. The "hotter" the teacher, the more they wish she was their educator.
