To my sister: I will never salute our flag
I got one of her bullshit emails again after she promised not to send me anymore. This one was a 'national anthem has to be sung in English' one. It set me off. Here is what I responded with before blocking her...

Tell this father how important it is to sing the National Anthem in English. Tell him that we invaded his country for his own good. Tell this father his child can be replaced. Tell him his loss isnt that important when compared to the wonderful things the United States is doing for Iraq. Tell this father that the United States is the greatest country on the planet.

This is why I hate emails about singing the national anthem in English, why I hate emails about prayer in schools and how fucking great we are. I hate hearing were such a fucking wonderful country when were killing these people. Were fighting them over there. . . remember?

As long as the United States continues the policies that maim, murder and torture people I will NEVER say were a great country. I will NEVER salute the flag until Iraq is free from our imperialistic occupation.

This photo is the truth. Its not propaganda and its not some bullshit crap that says were threatened because somebody wants to sing the National Anthem in another language.

A father lost his child to this fucking war. Find the justice in that.

And here is the picture she got with it:

I could have sent a more graphic photo, but I kept this one because it's such a kick to the gut. I cried the first time I saw it and the image stays with me. I don't know if this will have the same effect on her or not. All I know I'm pissed as hell. :grr:

1. Good for you, cynatnite.
I'm sorry a relative is such a dumbfuck; I can relate as my brothers are the same way. Anything that might get her to think outside her own little bubble, if she chooses to open her mind, is a good thing.

2. sister
Damn, you have a republican sister too???

Last week was the last straw, I sent her something on Rush Limpcyst on his horrid statement
about Michael J Fox, and she sent me back a rude comment, so I said F-IT and I havnt
emailed since, and I wont.
I am so sick and tired of those F-IN constipated conservatives, and especially the a$$ she
married.

I feel your pain

10. I got tired of her not respecting my requests on this...
She lives in her own world of her own problems and rarely thinks outside them. She gets these things and emails them to me or whoever else she likes without taking into consideration how much I hate this stuff. She did promise a while back she wouldn't send any more. It shows how twisted priorities are and I wish she'd get hers straight.

Her and my RW mom both think that if you're an illegal you have no right to the rights under the constitution. :eyes:

It pisses me off, but it breaks my heart at the same time. I honestly don't get how I came out of my mother's family.

4. Good for you. I also hate that crap about praying in schools, waving flags

6. I do too. I think that all the flag-waving hypocrits on the right
should pack their bags and go to Iraq, since they are so pro-war, and let all the men and women currently over there, who SEE what a deadly farce this is, come home to their families.

5. Well, forget being invited to her anniversary parties!
Blocking her was a great idea, especially since she just couldn't bring herself to honor your request not to send hateful bullshit from the right fringe. Until something kicks her in the teeth hard enough to break the spell of Lamebawl Land, you're better off with the blocked email. If she really, really has to get in touch with you, she can cough up the money for a phone call.

I know, I've had to block quite a few people. Often they just don't THINK and send the garbage to everybody in the address book.

7. "Oh, say can you see" this father's grief?
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 03:45 PM by TahitiNut
"The bombs bursting in air" killed this child.
"The rocket's red glare" killed this child and thousands of others.

"Home of the brave and land of the free"??

No.

Home of cowards surrendering our freedom and our honor to global profiteers and sociopaths.

War criminals in an outlaw nation.

8. To Whom do you Owe your Allegiance?
What does the flag mean? Doesn't it mean the US (via the flag) are greater than you, your family or any group in the US or any party?

9. Exactly how to handle these pigs.
Tell them to shove their jingoism right up their asses, and deal with reality for once. I have no patience for these repuke assholes.
