Iraq War Vets Return; Some have no HOME
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyld=63...

Oct 27th , 2006 National Guard Cpl. Joe Raicaldo is home from Iraq with things he didn't have when he left: an honorable discharge, metal rods and screws up and down his spine , and an arm that moves like a robot's. He is also homeless, living in his car. There are at least 600 recent vets who are homeless.

1. this is an atrocity
I watched "the Ground Truth" this weekend. Very profound documentary about the realities the vets endure. There is very little support for these poor souls, broken in spirit and body.

2. And minds
These kids have a hell of a lot of mental problems. Redeployment is killing their minds.

9. yes, they will be totally psychologically messed up and
wasn't Timothy McVeigh a soldier in Desert Storm and he went right off his head too. Just a speculation, that these soldiers some not all will be messed up for life.

7. This is how republicans support our troops.
As well as cutting veterans' benefits during wartime to give multiple tax cuts to their rich cronies.

13. I heard this guy's story on NPR last Friday
This man needs a deskjob pronto.

He was so down on himself, it was depressing. He called himself a failure and seemed to blame himself for his woes.

He was very hesitant about taking help from anyone, but he NEEDS a deskjob. If I wasn't hurting financially myself brother...
