Why now the sudden turn around on the troops coming home?
I have to say whatever the Administration wants, is definitely suspect.

Im not sure this is coming from the Administration.

Apparently the top General is saying it, however.

In the past two weeks, two significant events have occurred.

The Administration/Congress passes and approves the Torture bill, which is the attempt to shred the writ of Habeus Corpus.

Then yesterday Bush takes us a step further toward his goal of Martial Law (insurrection clause?).

Now there is a change of heart and the troops should come home?

Any correlation?

3. I don't know. Just looking at all the events the past few weeks.

Not to mention the past six years, how can we feel comfortable and trust anything they appear to support?

Of course I want the troops to come home, however, when they come home now, it's with Habeus Corpus undone and our rights as citizens severely curtailed and jeopardized.

4. Talk is cheap at election time.
Rove is looking at the polls and knowing politically they are in trouble so Bush has to promise the farm to keep power. It's mere words. No way does the Bush admin pull Exxon's enforcement patrol out of Iraq before the wealth has been exploited.

8. However
I read here yesterday that Rove sure looks like he's planning on orchestrating another election theft with words like, "the math" as opposed to "your math" So, I don't think Rove is a bit afraid, however, he should be, cuz everyone is watching this time!

5. May 2004
"This has required extended duty for the 1st Armored Division and the 2nd Light Cavalry Regiment -- 20,000 men and women who were scheduled to leave Iraq in April. Our nation appreciates their hard work and sacrifice, and they can know that they will be heading home soon."

They're constantly saying they're going to send troops home. It quiets the people, they never follow through, and a few months later it's the same thing all over again. They've been dangling this troops are coming home carrot since "mission accomplished". Hell, before the war the troops were saying 'the way home is through Baghdad'. They thought they were going to go liberate Baghdad and then go home in early 2003.

6. The troops will be needed here to enforce Martial Law
No way can they let the coming elections lay without them being answerable for their war crimes.
