Iraq: Media coverup of the Camp Falcon Explosion?

http://dissidentnews.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/iraq-medi... /

US occupation forces are accusing Iraqi translators of leaking information on the location of arms and ammunition depots in the Falcon military base (Al-Rashid military base) to the resistance.

We are sure that two Iraqi translators working with US forces leaked information and gave the base altitudes to the resistance. There are also doubts that a third interpreter had left the base one day before the bombing only and did not join again.

The Iraqi source, who refused to reveal his identity, said that dozens of American soldiers were killed in those explosions. The source pointed out that six Iraqi translators were killed in those explosions. American forces refused to hand over the bodies of the dead Iraqis to their families without giving reasons.

Ammo Dump Explosions Investigation October 16, 2006

Who needs translators when there are Google Maps?

There are emailed reports, yet to be confirmed, that the number of dead American soldiers at Al-Rashid military base (camp Falcon) has reached 300. See below pictures on the extent of some of the devastation there as a result of just a few Grad and Katyusha rockets (cost: no more than $300 - Effect: estimated at $billions of munitions, structures and American lives wasted).

Wonder why there is a spike in American casualties this month?

Wonder why Bush is huddled with his military?

The Video shows the US Falcon base in Baghdad, Iraq set on fire by mujahedeen fighters with motors. At 3.56mins you see a major explosion, a white flash, followed by a mushroom cloud.(?!!!)

-this snip holds youtube video and text from Wikipedia about what will make a mushroom cloud-

3. I've seen clips of the explosions taken by American military personnel.

They were on yahoo I believe.

edit: To add that to pretend that no one died during those horrible explosions is ludicrous and a cover-up.

back to the original post:

I doubt that the 'insurgents' needed inside help figuring out the coordinates for the base. I bet it was big enough for them to figure that out for themselves. People talk about these people like they are ignorant third-word mud hut dwelling nomads. WRONG. They have an ancient civilization where things like medicine and mathmatics and astronomy and other subjects of great learning were discovered and developed. And they've had to live with western occupations many times, always overthrowing their occupation in the end.

This does not help one damn bit when the media and our government try to portray these people as being less civilized or less educated than we are. We are the newcomers on the block, not them. They had a five thousand year history that was documented in their museum. We, rather than sparing any personnel to guard that proof of their heritage (and in an abstact way ours as well), proved beyond a doubt where the ignorance and uncivilized behavior lie.

All it takes is a small GPS unit and anybody walking around a clicking waypoints...

IMHO no translators were "needed" these Camps all use cheap laborers......

5. Can I give this a negative recommend?

It's yet another tinfoil site that doesn't know WTF they are talking about.

gave the base altitudes to the resistance

Altitude is the least important targeting parameter, after azimuth and elevation, i.e. what direction do you shoot and how far do you shoot. If there is a large difference in altitude between fire position and target position that is easily found with a top map or visually. No need for super secret agents.

set on fire by mujahedeen fighters with motors

Do they mean MORTARS. I had a mental image of an attack with electric powered devices.

MOTOR

MORTAR

Yeah, yeah, I get the nukular reference.

Any sufficiently large explosion will generate a mushroom cloud.

"A mushroom cloud is a distinctive mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke, flame, or debris resulting from a very large explosion. They are most commonly associated with nuclear explosions, but any sufficiently large blast will produce the same sort of effect. Volcano eruptions and impact events can produce natural mushroom clouds."

Here, no explosion, at all.

6. Any links which actually named the casualties are suspect.
here are many which do so - all were copied from the same dubious origin.

This was truedelphi's post on the subject.
