The psychosis of Rush Limbaugh.

I once had a friend who listened to Rush Limbaugh three hours a day. He was a Republican operative. He sat in my apartment, wearing headphones, while I worked. He swore that if I put on the headphones for 10 minutes, I'd be hooked. So I put them on.

Inside the headphones was another world. Everyone in this world thought the same way, except liberals, and they were only cartoon characters, to be defeated as though in a video game. In the real world, my friend was unemployed and had been staying with me, rent-free, for two months. But inside the headphones, he could laugh about welfare bums instead of pounding the pavement.

I thought about that this week when Limbaugh went after his latest target: Michael J. Fox. Fox, who has Parkinson's disease, has been appearing in ads for candidates who support government-funded embryonic stem-cell research. The ads promote this research as a potential cure for Parkinson's and other ailments.

1. Rushbo - Sept. '88...It's Not A Talk Show Host Place To Carry A Political Agenda

That's what he said on a radio interview right after his national show began. He claimed the only reason he goes over the top as he does is that radio is supposed to be "entertainment" and that was his intentions...that the "over-the-top" comments he makes were joking or satire...blah blah blah. I know this as a fact, since the interviewer was me.

Rushbo and his handlers played the games and the refs...always retreating to the "this is entertainment" jag whenever he caused a controversy...while reveling in making himself out to be a martyr of the "liberal media" every time he was called into account for his statements. Look at the ESPN flap...Jimmy the Greek's career and life were ruined by his remarks, Rushbo does the "just kidding" shuck and jive and the corporate media gave him a pass.

The corporate media fears Rushbo and his ilk now. Primarily since he now lives among them...he's considered a "money maker" and "franchise" for the same companies that hire the "critics" and "journalists" who give him continual free passes. Rush and EFM Media created hate radio and have franchised it into a main source of revenue for many radio stations...they are afraid of losing him and will bend over backwards to ignore his callous, selfish and destructive nature.
