1. Terra! Terra!
No one could have anticipated that they'd plant a bomb on a bus.

10. Was it yesterday
Maybe it was the day before, there was guy who called in a bomb scare on a plane because he missed it. I can just imagine the bus pulling away, the guy stomping on the ground and going to a phone booth... "I'll show them."

Sure, I have an overactive imagination.

This whole thing with CNN (et al, of course) putting up a "Breaking" headline just manages to work people up. I know that's what they want- scare them into watching! Something in your fridge may kill you! There's a school shooting! Well, actually it's a shooting in the vicinity of a school and no-one at the school was hurt and it's all over now but still aren't you glad you get your news from us?

It just bugs me is all.

Bomb threat shuts down Glendale block

Article Last Updated:10/27/2006 12:41:19 PM PDT

<snip>

The incident began just before 11 a.m. when a passenger on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Line 92 bus told the driver there was a bomb on board as he was disembarking, Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

The bus was about half full and was immediately evacuated. The man who made the threat was described as between 25 and 35 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall and 160 pounds wearing a burgundy shirt and dark pants.

Police evacuated some businesses and office buildings along the 100 block of Brand between Broadway and Wilson Avenue.

Bomb-sniffing dogs and the Los Angeles County sheriff s Bomb Squad are investigating.

17. Slightly OT
Ever noticed how it is sometimes politically incorrect to mention the perp's ethnicity or skin color? This one did not even mention hair color.

A male "between 25 and 35 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall and 160 pounds wearing a burgundy shirt and dark pants" is not much to go on.

14. I wonder if this is like the "I.E.D." they found in the Starbucks bathroom
later downgraded to a "possible pipe bomb"--- then, 2 days later, further downgraded to a "flashlight". :eyes:

16. Is this a Screaming Chicken Wolf Blitzer Breaking News Report?
He likes to have one of these every day on the Situation Room. I think if there is nothing out there, someone in his office calls one in or posts something, so he has something Terra-fying to report.
