Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 03:16 PM by BurtWorm
Which, as kos points out, is why the GOP is responding so desperately to it.

12. That is what is doing it ...
They are one trick pony's ... It worked in the past, when the sheeple were just meandering along ... BUT, now that Bushco and this republican congress have screwed this country up to near beyond repair, and try as they might, there really is no one left to blame BUT them ... The sheeple have woke up ... And, while the "attack ads" have worke for them when they had straw men to beat up on ... The sheeple have no one left to blame than the repukes ... And, now that they are half groggily awake, the attack ads are RIGHTLY rubbbing them the wrong way ...

Up in PA, Santorum is spinning EVERY possible way, including of course some really bizarre attack ads ... They didn't help him at all, and just kind of cemented the moderates who had already decided he was a maniac, in believing so ...

I can only hope ... REALLY ... That there are more people in Tennessee offended by the Ford ads to the point that they won't vote GOP ... Can we live to hope that one more than half the people in the state have moved to the 21st century ...

20. The Argentine warmongers were emasculated losing to a country led by a woman..
...Margaret Thatcher, after the failed takeover of the Falkland Islands. They should rightly have been booted after the war, but the loss of machismo was the kicker.

25. well
I was not taking sides. I just think the concept of public outrage due to being defeated by a country led by a woman is pretty darn funny.

3. I would think that being opposed to stem cell research
is not a winning strategy. Especially when people really look into it, and consider all the details.

19. It's sort of moot, since embryos are thrown out anyway.
Most people don't hold such an extreme view. I think being opposed to stem cell research is a little extreme for most people. I would expect that to be true, anyway.

9. Heh heh,... his original "personna" has endured
---- Plenty of republicans remember Michael J. Fox as Alex Keaton, the ultra-RW teen confounding his liberal parents' sixties-era philosophy. Fox obviously did a convincing job in the role,... and his subsequent movie credits haven't detracted from that image.

Wow, even so many Republicans support stemcell research? So I guess it's only because of that extreme base that they still fight it.

6. Even the repukes on the gabfests said
"that's a VERY effective ad." And yes, that's why they're trying to Swiftboat Fox. There's a grain of truth in their charges, but only a grain, and that's all they need. Fox did in fact say that he didn't take his meds before a speech, but it was because the meds make him shake MORE.

I hope these filthy scumbags get exactly what they deserve, for this and for all their other lies and smears.

10. So if meds made him shake less, a cure is unnecessary?
Somebody work that logic for me.

11. If it can happen to Michael J. Fox, it can happen to anyone. And no one
wants to be in that condition if there is a possibility, any possibility, of a cure. When the people are reminded of that condition this close to an election in this context, they will remember it at the polls.
This issue is a real loser for the Republicans, and they look like fools and make their case worse by criticizing a person such as Michael J. Fox, who only hopes for a cure.

Yes, I'm quite scared that it could hit people in my family. And if they were affected, I didn't want some dumb und ruthless politicians holding the resarch back.
Fox got diagnosed when he was 29, imagine that. Not many would have his spirit and strength.

26. Randi: they lie about Rush's apology - there was none. Not even GOP style.
She played his "I stand by everything I said, retract nothing - I spoke the truth as I established it"
But they say he apologized because of the backlash, I guess. And only make it worse.
