Gonzalez: US image hurt due to Europe not understanding the war on terror

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/24/AR2006102400784.html

<snip>

He blamed the country's deteriorating image on misunderstanding in Europe about what the U.S. is doing to fight terrorism.

"Part of the misunderstanding is the fault of the United States in the sense that we need to be out there more, talking about what we are doing and why," he said.

11. The Busholini Regime is in an all War mode on the World.
It is misunderstood that Global Domination requires brute force, economic bribery and blackmail and torture and other War Crimes. Yeah, people just don't understand these things. Right.

5. What an asshole
Telling people who don't believe your bullshit that they are too stupid to understand your ignorant ways is unbelievably stupid and poor statesmanship.

This guy is such a dick it is unbelievable.

I hope these men get to experience an indefinite detention and waterboarding.

12. Yeah, because people in Europe are too stupid to grasp the
complexities(cough cough) of American politics. Fascism, police states and torture are just so hard to understand for Europeans.

Let's blame the Iraqis for Iraq and Europe for America's "image" problem.

Anyone and anything but the guilty. Isn't that right, Torture Czar?

14. Why ARE you doing it?
How much real danger is there from terrorists? How many Al Quada are there? Surely Americans are terrible credulous to believe their lives are in much danger. I'm amazed they can pull the wool over your eyes. It's almost laughable. Look at the latest Bin Laden add. Hilarious! On the other hand you should be terrified by global warming and by your government.

16. I think they understand it better than the Bushies do.
It's about taking an attack on the United States and using it as a pretext to fulfill an unrelated neoconservative wetdream with no relation to the attack on the United States.

Osama bin Laden and George W. Bush each have succeeded in murdering about 3000 Americans in the process.

I think they can see for themselves what's going on- and wouldn't buy the sort of horseshit that's spewed all over the American corporate media.

____
edited to state the obvious: quite literally millions of Europeans flooded the streets of their cities in the weeks prior to the first assault on Baghdad, in demonstrations against Bush's clear intention to bomb Iraq.

It seems to me the folks of Old Europe were right from the start and a certain fake Cowboy was wrong.

22. What's there to 'misunderstand', fucknuts?
You invaded, bombed the shit out of, tortured and imprisoned people of a country that did you no harm. Nor were they likely to.

Europe (at least most of it) told you NOT to invade.

They were right then. They're right now.

Eat it.
