GOOD NEWS!!! Darkness coming to light edition...
DU forgive me, it has been a couple of months since my last Good News post. Nevertheless, I'm back, to post all of the progressive goodness that has taken place since that time. Some you may be aware of, some not...so enjoy! (NOTE: It is REALLY hard to find positive stuff in the news!)

Democrats projected to win house:

Electoral-Vote.com: 229 Democrats, 205 Republicans

Electionprojection.com (favors GOP): 222 Democrats, 213 Republicans

CQ Politics: 209 Democrats, 207 Republicans, 19 tossup

More importantly, this is because the depths of GOP corruption are finally coming to light. And in two weeks, for the first time in history, the most powerful person in our government will be female. When Nancy Pelosi ascends to the house speakership, the Senate will be closely divided, the Chief Justice is still new, and the President has already been a lame duck for some time.

Overall, the ramifications are that the leadership of the House of Representatives will be much more diverse..like the United States of America.

Most likely seats to change hands:

TX-22 (Tom Delay), FL-16 (Foley), AZ-8 (Kolbe), IN-8 (Hostetler), NY-26 (Weldon), PA-7 (Weldon). A recent RT Strategies poll has suggested that New York's delegation could become completely Democratic.

A Dem victory in Arkansas will give control of the Southern Governors' Association to Democrats: In case you missed the last three Democratic presidents, the South is a really important political region.

Evangelicals on board against Global Warming...from the religious left AND religious right.

The evangelical left, Quakers, etc. have always respected the environment...but it's only been a couple of months since even Pat Robertson said he believed in global warming. And here we are:

3. PA - 10 my neck of the woods
Don "the strangler" Sherwood (R PA-10) running 14 points behind CHRIS CARNEY (D)

last week bush showed up for a sherwood pep rally - polls are showing no bump for Sherwood. (last month Cheney was here for sherwood fundraiser...)

Santorum (R-Senate) is in his last desperate throes, Casey (D) running 12 points ahead
