These people have had six years to discuss and research this but they wait until now ... some more of the bushit I say. They figure by saying that the votes won't be counted properly that people will figure "why bother to vote if the machines's are rigged and my vote will not count?".

I've run into more than one person that has said this to me and I've advised them to vote permanent absentee if they are concerned.

It is another tactic of those desperate to hang-on to what they never had to begin with - that is We The People!

for the blow that will hit us on November 7th - when Republicans miraculously retain their hold on the House and the Senate. Then they can say that the "misguided" idea that votes would be manipulated, switched or stolen kept "secular" voters away from the polls, while the "faithful evangelical" voting block would never believe such an obvious conspiracy theory, and turned out in droves to vote for their "values."

Or, perhaps, they're actually going to be "all over" this story and demand accountability - from the Democrats who rigged the election.

News about the inaccuracy of computerized voting, lends credibility to the fiasco heading our way, so that when the shit hits the fan...it will be expected maybe even accepted...and, as Ohio taught us..the courts will be useless..because if you can't 'prove' theft...I can't wait until this election is over and we know where we are....

was effective. As to diebold..we don't know. We just don't have the smoking goods on that.

But if more than half that 35% who didn't bother to vote..vote...then numbers of Dem votes will be too big to ignore.

I suggest that this is getting airplay now..because it suits the GOP. The theory that votes are massively stolen by diebold machine annoys centrists. Not believing in diebold annoys some leftists. It is pot stirring to keep as many home as possible.

Exit polls were off in many places last election, including many districts that had no diebold machines whatsoever.

You can bet that all the possible GOP voters will be marched or bussed out to vote on election day. I suggest we not give up on voting...or spread that fear/speculation if it will create apathy. Cause apathy is the real enemy. 35% not voting in past elections is not very funny. At that rate Bush & the GOP could win with just 40 % of the vote.

GOP base is around 30%. Leftist base is about 20%. About 40% of the voters are moderates. So we on the left & moderates have to talk about stuff that will move us closer to each other.

21. It isn't from my TV. The initial reports said exit polls were off in places

with no diebold machines too. I think the exit polls were ridiculously off. The reluctant responder theory was put forward a few months after the election. I'm closer to believing that than that diebold stole votes in a massive way.

I believe in all sorts of voter suppression. There is much evidence of that..but not very much evidence, if any, of diebold vote switching by computer. So I just don't speculate as far as you do.

It isn't a done deal. Don't forget the other 49 ways votes are being suppressed. Making it hard for the poor, the apathetic and Democrats to vote I'm sure will be going on all over the country.

and... central tabulating devices counting paper ballots are also vulnerable. Exit polls have been correctly calling elections for years, prior to the last election. I'm sure you've read the statistical analysis. Exit polls were used to determine fraud in the Ukraine election, and are used primarily in under-developed countries to uncover fraud.

14. If "they" wanted a bunch of "moderate" Dems to win in 2006 and give a bipartisan...

bipartisan face to the government just before a big Iran push, what a better time to air out the computerized voting issue and then calm everyone's fears with a big Dem "win".

Bush's Repug shock troops have already done their damage - and bills to reverse the damage will either die because "moderates" won't support them or Bush will veto them.

All indications are that this will be the year for Dems to win, but for little to change as a result. I wish I felt differently.
