Active troops ask congress to end Iraqi occupation

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sixty five active duty service members are officially asking Congress to end the war in Iraq -- the first time active troops have done so since U.S. invasion began in 2003.

Three of the service members will hold a press conference Wednesday explaining their decision to send "Appeals for Redress" under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act to their members of Congress. Under the act, National Guard and Reservists can send communications about any subject to their member of Congress without punishment.

We have allowed this criminal and immoral administration to use and abuse our American Military. We make a pact with our servicemen and women that we will only ask the ultimate sacrifice when it is necessary for the defense of our country, not the defense of exxon's profits or the bush family evil empire's business interests. We have failed in upholding our part of the bargain, however, there is still time to right this most egregious of wrongs. If they have the courage to stand against tyranny, we should also.

rethuglicans this last election cycle, now did we? In fact we say the Pentagon SHUT DOWN the Military voting apparatus. Talk about the ultimate betrayal. Men and women with their lives on the line and their vote reduced to the average uncounted Ohio vote. And I mean NO disrespect to the Military or to the citizens of Ohio. Instead of being for the defense of Country, they're in defense of profits for corporate tyrants.
