66% of Americans think the election will be stolen!

This segment from Lou Dobbs last week is amazing. Not only do they demonstrate how easy it is to steal an election, but about half way through the segment, they release poll results showing that 66% of Americans believe there will be "inaccurate results from electronic voting machines caused on purpose by hackers." Other poll questions show a majority of people simply do not trust the machines. AND RIGHTFULLY SO.

my comment - we need to start differentiating between "hackers" and "riggers" but this segment is great and it shows that people are starting to wake up. the question now is, what are we going to do about it???

7. There is too much spotlight to risk fraud this time.

If two thirds of Americans are already convinced the elections are tampered with two weeks before an election where the republican hold on state and local government is seriously endangered, likely with a broad margin in most cases, they would have to be stupid to use direct tampering to win, and they're not (at least, not the ones planning the strategy). Instead, they'll point to the massive change in direction of votes and say that it's too extreme not to be tampering by the Democrats, and they'll point to anything shady anyone remotely connected to us and the elections do and blast it all over the media as proof, thus it would blow up in our face. We have to make sure they fail when they do this.

suppose the machines are hackable at any point on election day.

If exit polling overwhelmingly indicates that a Dem is going to win, what stops them from going into the machine and hacking it (leaving evidence) to make sure the Dem wins by a wide margin.

Then, after the election results, the Repig challenger can protest the results, and then someone will show up with proof that the Dem stole the election.

The Repig gets to go to Congress, the Dem goes to trial and probably jail, and Repigs will be able to say (with hard proof) that Dems steal elections

49. Why prettify the word "hacker"?

I know, the term is not well defined. There are techies who believe that "hacking" a system means trying to extend the technology, understand it and make it do new things.

But most people accept a "hacker" as a thief, a con man, a dirty bastard who wants to steal your votes, your ATM card and your web page.

Let's face it; "hacker" is just a modern term for "mad scientist," someone who does what he wants with science with no regard for anyone else. And if this offends anyone out there, there haven't been a lot of self-proclaimed "hackers" that have been recognized for social service or positive, people-helping causes. Most of them work for the satisfaction of getting money from the rich, or of stomping over someone's virtual face because they have the power to.

You want to challenge this judgment, that's okay, but I don't think the public would disagree with me.
