Do you think that the roles they played in Florida and Ohio have anything to do with their poor showing in the polls for their political races?
Those guys were the darlings of the GOP once upon a time.
I wonder what happened?

I don't know if I would call them darlings. They were owed favors by the higher ups for the vote rigging, but were they ever darlings of the party? I don't know.

| 3. CatWoman, you ask one of the best questions of the 2006 |
|
election cycle.
As things stand now, both appear headed to devastating defeats, both from often conservative states, and despite being their party's high-profile get-it-done flunkies in 2000 and 2004.
This might be the karmic boomerang whipping around the trimmed lawns of Toledo and Winter Park to knock the two darlings right in their noggins.
Those two, respectively, cheated Gore in the Florida debacle in 2000 and Kerry-Edwards in Ohio in 2004, and if the karmic boomerang strikes, it'll be a well-deserved hit.
And for my part, I hope that boomerang's zoomin' in at a VERY high rate of speed.
Great post, great question.

| 4. I think they overreached in trying to get payback for their sins |
|
I think they both felt the GOP "owed" them for rigging the elections, and demanded to right to campaign for positions that they were obviously unqualified for.

| 7. The GOP is probably being gracious by allowing Harris and Blackwell |
|
to live. That will be their thanks for their past dirty deeds.
