That's what cnn's ed henry just warned us about in his analysis of the upcoming elections.

Really ed? Is this like a cautionary warning to us not to mess with bush or punish him for his many many crimes? I suppose we should 'play nice nice' for two years while the world burns? fuck you little eddy.

2. You know that's the secret to the republicans success.
When you think of names like Limbaugh, Rove, Coulter, Hannity, Delay, you think of people who go out of their way to be nice to the opposing side. We just need to follow their example, and treat Bush exactly as Republicans would treat a Democratic President.

21. Damn lies. "POUNDING" = "PROVING YOU'RE RIGHT" to the Republicans
They interpret DETERMINATION, CONVICTION (pun not intended at first, but I'll go with it), KNOWING THAT YOU AND YOUR CAUSE IS JUST, etc etc etc as REQUIRING "pounding"...

Oooooh, how I can't WAIT to give them a TINY DOSE of their own medicine!

3. Pound on versus investigate
We're not going to investigate his sex life. We're going to get to the bottom of all the crimes of this administration, and it won't all be directed at Bush. Once all the dirt comes out, only hardcore kool-aid drinkers will vote R.

6. We should investigate his sex life
I think some very interesting things might come to light. Things that could reflect on his ability to do his job and his susceptibility to blackmail.

4. Ed Henry. What a joke. Any Repug could drop his/her pants and get
serviced by Henry in a second. He does as he's told, everything he reports is so right leaning, it's disgusting. I remember yelling at the television set once when he was on. LIAR, LIAR, LIAR.

He needs to go to CBS and work with Katie Couric, they're both fluff balls with no substance, taking their talking points and words from the GOP.

5. It's not play nice
It's get something done and ram it down Smirk's lying throat. That's what independents and moderate Repukes are voting for, not name-calling. I think the access to documents we will get if we win will be enough to refer the run-up to the war to the authorities for legal action.

We are in debt up to our ears, the war is a travesty, healthcare is too expensive for millions and millions of people to afford, etc. I want something done about this stuff, and if we do accomplish something, and Bush vetoes it, the GOP will be totally swamped in 08. If we sit around telling the people what they already know, that Bush is scumbag, without doing anything, they may very well say the dems are just as bad and vote Repuke.

9. No holds legal or political will be barred
WE ARE FIGHTING FOR THE LIFE OF AMERICA HERE.

Republicans took the lead and failed miserably on many counts. Our financial health, stature and military are gutted. We can not sit here and play nice we have to play smart, tough and stay positive. If Bush gets in the way he shall be crushed.

10. We should pound on W, BUT....
The Dem Congress needs to also formulate and execute a clear legislative agenda. That will have greater longterm importance and consequences than pounding on GWB non-stop.

14. Clinton is One of the Best
politicians I've ever seen at pursuing political attacks because he would do it with a smile, conviction, and a sense of hope and positive solution. (At least until recently.) Reagan was good in style even though most of his policies were wrong. Kerry is pretty good, although I believe he is too polished and well-spoken for his attacks to have enough force. Dean is good, although he allows himself to look overly combative, which is why I think he lost the primaries. You can't be an attack dog as a candidate.

Ed Henry is warning about a real danger. It should not mean to hold back; but you have to attack in the right way to resonate with the public and maintain support. It can be done, but for some reason Democrats seem to have a hard time finding the right tone for the majority of Americans. I don't think it's only a matter of coverage. But political victory has a way of changing things.

15. We win and go on a 2 pronged attacked.
1. Most importantly. Pass legislation that makes a difference in lives of the little guys. Such as, a REAL overhaul of medicare, a REAL overhaul of healthcare coverage (making it portable, making it easier for small business to afford, making it easier for lower income people to afford - mandating electronic records in every facility by a certain date etc) -- if all they do is overhaul healthcare that is enough to perhaps get the nod in 08, IMHO.

2. Attack Bushco. An impeachment is not really going to be productive at this point. But high profile hearings and news reports of the waste, fraud, lies and manipulations associated with Iraq will do some damage. There is also the matter of stopping the R's from slashing the constitution and drafting legislation that will reverse some of the damage done -- let Bush veto it or signing statement it away. But the Dems need to fervently make the case of protecting human rights while still going after terrorists. (though they have shown no sign of doing this to date)

17. Exactly. It will only be a problem if...

...the resistance to BushCo is viewed as the only thing getting done. If the Dems pass a lot of high profile bread and butter bills as well, it will not be a problem.

19. No one likes Bush.
All he has left is his base of crazies/morons/people who will not accept the truth; in other words, my Texas relatives. ;)

The rest of the nation has had enough of the Bush Administration. That's what this mid-term election is all about. We want change. We, the majority of Americans, want change.

We would like to see someone rein in Bush and the Republicans. According the polls even the average man in the street knows that the corporations have way too much influence on our government.

A large majority of the people now say that the pre-emtive war against Iraq was a monumental mistake.

The list goes on and on and on.

We want to have oversight, we want to influence the behavior of the Executive Branch.

God willing and the creek don't rise, we will get it.

20. i believe people will be voting democrats in so there "is" accountability
i believe people want andexpect the dems to hold hearings into accountability of why this war was started..and who is accountable..

From what i hear all the time from even many rethugs..is someone must be held accountable..for the war, the debt, the stripping of the constitution..

people are fed up..and if the dems don't take this responsibility seriously..then they will lose in the polls in 2008

they are being given a job..by the people ..for the people..for 100% accountability

The American people have been underestimated by this admin..people are fed up..

now the dems can play the middle..and lose..

or they can take this responsibility and get us out of Iraq..and stop the bullshit..and use the subpoena power and get to the bottom of what this admin has done to our nation.

If dems win ( a big if with the voting machines) ..that is a mandate to stop this administrations illegalities..and hold their feet to the fire..

if the dems fail at that..they will be seen as weak..and they will lose big in 2008..

its now or never...

the dems need to pull up their bootstraps and act like a congress and senate as over sight..to this admin , this war, our debt ,our national security , our health care, our incomes, and the media..

enough of a vacation congress..they need to get the job done with little time..2 yrs..is not a long time..to undo what the republican congress and this administration has done to this nation!

fly
