Panamanians back canal expansion

Voters in Panama have overwhelmingly approved an ambitious project to expand the country's famous shipping canal.
In a nationwide referendum, people voted by a margin of four to one to back the $5.2bn plan, which involves building a new channel and new locks.

Earlier this month Nicaragua started to ponder on an alternative :

1. Panama's Oligarchy

Will be the onl ones to benefit form this endeavor. Torrijos and his cronies wiil ensure that his family and friends are the only ones to get the contracts and the plum jobs. It is good that they are thinking of expansion, but, it wiil not benefit the country, just the rabi-blancos. ( the white-tails).
