And heads off for a luxurious vacation at the Imperial Pig Farm Upon Crawford.

Corrupt Republicon crony sidekick Dick "Five Deferments" Cheney says, "D'oh."

5. Now we know what Cheney is doing in his bunker...
pouting & sulking. He's not in charge either. James Baker forgave ol Dead Eye Dick for shooting his brother-in-law, but looks like he isn't forgiving Dick letting the polls slip so far they can't steal with any credibility! The corporate masters must be worried if they are willing to give up some short term profits to try and maintain the facade of the Republic.

Gotta pull the Return-of-the-Troops card to try and salvage this one. It's a good thing. Shows just how hallow all their arguments for being in Iraq so long really are.

Get the troops home, then prosecute the bastards who sent them for fun and profit!

9. Again denying it's ever been a "Stay the Course" strategy
Which is cow manure. The backpedaling the WH is doing is nothing short of breathtakingly absurd.

Plus you could wiggle an elephant through this so-called timetable (and they will):

"In contrast to earlier White House statements, Bartlett did not deny a New York Times report saying the head of the U.S.-led Multinational Forces in Iraq and the U.S. ambassador were working on a plan that for the first time would set a specific timetable for disarming militias and meeting other political and economic goals."

No change. This is simply calculated to buck up their gullible base.

14. Holy shit! Doesn't that mean the evil-doers will follow us home?
Or...or...they fight us here because we left there?

Or...or...or...they'll now just wait until we leave then all hell will really break lose?

Or...maybe it just means Bush is a lying, pandering sack of weasel turds (not to unduly dis weasels and their fine bowel movements).

17. Ahhh, Bush's strategy revealed! He "cuts and runs..."
The "evil-doers" follow our troops home so we wind up fighting them here while Bush escapes to Paraguay!

What a plan! And who says Bush is a moron?

19. The robber barons love the goose that lays golden eggs (Iraq).
Pre-election propaganda ploy that the corporate cabal wants to get us out of Iraq. Just the opposite is true.

But the cabal is worried about losing its grip on power. The corrupt leaders know they will never have another opportunity like this to loot our Treasury.

On the bright side - maybe the Iraqis will find some kind of peace in their own lives when the Americans pull out. I think we ought to celebrate that this is a good thing not only for the citizens who have suffered under the American occupation, but also the young soldiers who have lost limb and life going over there on this oil escapade.

I know it's good to see them turn - we all knew they would have too... but they did. And we won.

22. I don't see any change, except in the words they're using
They're still predicating the whole thing on probably-unattainable goals like disarming the militias they armed in the beginning of the war.

Then, when this date uncertain arrives and 750-1000 Iraqis a day are being killed in the sectarian violence, the Bushies will just get on television and state that since the militias are not disarmed, the occupation must continue--AND we need Even More Troops to help quash the increased sectarian violence.

I can't even see this as being an election-year ploy. We're at the point where if Dubya Bush walked in the door wringing wet and said it was raining, two-thirds of the country would go outside and look up because they KNOW Bush lies about everything. No reasonable person is going to fall for this "timetable" lie. I don't even think the freepers would--they think this is the work of the evil liberal MSM or the evil liberals in Congress or something.

Naah, they're not pulling out. Not really.
