Doesn't it bother everyone that Bush is saying
that the Repubs are going to win, in much the same way he said, on election night 2000, that the networks had it wrong and that his bother was taking care of everything?

He has that look again...what interested me that night was that his Daddy looked really really nervous and that he was not fearing a loss, IMHO, but being 'discovered'.

We know what happened next.

1. Of course it bothers me, but the polls are very tough to dispute
election 2000/04 were both close enough to steal, this one isn't.

3. Wait a while...
you'll see things 'tightening' prior to Election Day...and the pundits 'rethinking their conclusions'.

Watch...

I sincerely hope I'm wrong...but I thought the Eagles were gonna win today too and look what happened...

declare "That's it, it's over, the Dems are gonna win!". Since he isn't, the fix must be in.

5. Your sarcasm is noted (duly)
but cautious optimism would be the order of the day under other circumstances.

BTW, you DON'T think the fix is in here and there? Even I'll admit that in Philly, the fix is probably in for the Dems...

18. I'll Admit, I Don't Put Anything Past Them. We Must GOTV Like Never
before and win the ground war on November 7th. The more we get to the polls, the harder it is for them to fuck with.

4. That bothers some people around her an awful lot.

Me, I'm not sure. They may have a lock, or Bush may be flying on his history of having others get him out of scrapes so that he has never in his whole life had anything bad happen to him or had to face the consequences of his own narcissistic, criminal behavior.

I guess what I mean is they may very well have a fix in on the election--maybe something we haven't even thought of yet, or they may not. I don't think either Bush's or Rove's displays of nonchalance have any predictive value in this or any other regard.

19. If they're so secure, why are they so worried?
Do George and Karl not share the good news?

Has Karl gotten one fucking thing right in two years?

6. I was paranoid about their cockiness as well...
...but what are they supposed to do? Throw up their hands and give up?

They're acting confident because to do otherwise would make it worse, it reassures their base and gets them to come out and vote.

These are the same people who think that things are going well in Iraq so it doesn't surprise me that they're confident about the election.

10. They're lying about that too...
they KNOW thing aren't going well in Iraq. but you can chalk that up to 'perception'. here, we're supposed to be counting votes. I just don't trust these guys...that OK with anyone? I mean, we had about a gazillion posts after 2004 election and I was posting all election night that something was wrong with the counting in Ohio, FL, and VT and Wisconsin. Something was really weird about the whole thing...you could smell it happeneing...and then there was Kenny blackwell in OH. BINGO!!

7. We show up to vote in record numbers, the MSM doesn't cover
the big turnnout as something special, the GOP steals the elections again, and the Revolution begins, to be led by Mr. Guy O'Teen.

11. Massive voter purging
Too wide a margin for Diebold. Remember the Miami Chief of Police who was a "convicted Felon" and stopped from voting? Are they planning something like that?

do not fret about their spin. that is just a distraction from the GOTV energy required to win an election.

21. It bothers me and I will be nervous until after the election. All we
can do is vote, encourage others to vote and investigate suspicious results. Voter fraud has finally lost it's "tin foil hat" association. At least that's something.
