1. Even DHS doesn't think it's credible.

3. And still, they had to send a notice to news outlets
who probably had no inkling of the bogus "threat" just to let people know about it.

:banghead:

This crywolf strategy of theirs is wearing terribly thin.

4. So if it wasn't credible - why announce it?
I mean, I'm guessing that everyday there are idiots in the world with crazy notions of stuff they want to blow up or destroy. And since the 2004 Election, we've not heard of any of these things until ironically like 2 weeks before midterms

9. "an abundance of caution"
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Web site is claiming that seven National Football League gridiron stadiums will be attacked with radiological dirty bombs this weekend, but the U.S. government on Wednesday expressed doubts about the threat.

The threat, posted Oct. 12, was part of an ongoing Internet conversation titled "New Attack on America Be Afraid." It mentioned NFL stadiums in New York, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Oakland and Cleveland, where games are scheduled to be held this weekend.

The Homeland Security Department alerted authorities and stadium owners in those cities, as well as the NFL, of the Web message but said the threat was being viewed "with strong skepticism." Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said there was no intelligence that indicated such an attack was imminent, and that the alert was "out of an abundance of caution."

15. "An Abundance of Caution" = Elections in less than 3 weeks
I had dinner tonight with two of my classmates here in Toronto. Both are from Canada and I mentioned jokingly about the 'Terror Threat' to the NFL stadiums. The one guy asked about how we tolerate all these threats but I just laughed and told them they'll go away after the elections for about 18 months until the next major election.

It's like the boy that cried wolf. But the sad thing is one day the wolf will be there but this government has us so jaded that we probably won't even believe it until after it happens

5. the most ludricous statement
is that there is a threat of dirty bombs at 7, count'em 7 NFL stadiums, but people shouldn't be afraid of attending the games....

so rah-rah-rah-booga-booga?

what the hell kind of warning is that? we are warning people of a stadium terror attack so go ahead and go to the games?

10. How many "not very credible" threats are blasted across
the air waves? Why this one, from the internet? Shouldn't this admin. be able to trace this with little effort with all the "tools" from the Patriot Act, access to all calls, e-mails.

14. Baseball fans are too passive.
I think they're aiming to stir up the mean, aggressive, blood-and-guts crowd that follows football.
