CBS doing story on Bush/gas prices. citing poll results that

show correlation between his popularity and gas prices.

calling the relationship uncanny

then, they show a creep from some thinktank who says the idea is preposterous, then conlclude that the president has no power to affect gas prices

of course they don't mention the bush/saudi connection, or the possible ability of Goldman/Sachs to affect prices, or the two forces in combination

wait a minute for that thread.....

http://www.econbrowser.com/archives/2006/10/the_great_gasol.html

can't find thread, but this looks like a possible source. unfortunately it dismisses the whole idea as a conspiracy theory.

interesting comments follow the post, most of which I don't understand, but the Saudi presence/influence is raised by some

anybody have that Goldman/Sachs thread that was up a few days ago?

Bush takes aim at rising gasoline prices
Summer deposits to national oil reserve halted

Wednesday, April 26, 2006; Posted: 2:31 a.m. EDT (06:31 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Calling the oil issue a matter of national security, President Bush outlined a plan Tuesday to cut gasoline costs and temporarily stopped deposits to the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Bush is delaying this summer's deposits to the reserve -- an emergency stockpile of government-owned crude oil -- as he faces political pressure from campaigning members of Congress and anger from consumers about high gas prices

2. but gas prices have been going down lately and so has Bush's
approval ratings--rather than going up. There are too many other issues that people take in consideration.
