Please quit posting all these DEM WIN posts. No wins are guaranteed
get out there and work to secure a victory.

I shouldn't need to remind you all of election night 2k4.

Sitting back and assuming we've won prior to the election is not something that will help us. People will feel they can lay off and relax and not campaign.

To win we need to keep our underdog position and work as if a win is just within our grasp not assured.

1. I'll never forget screaming at people to get out and vote in 2004
They were all too drunk on victory based on exit polls way before people had even finished voting. It was a very bitter day for me.

2. Agreed, people get off of DU for a while!
Peoples' projections about a Democratic win have a hidden assumption that everything will go smoothly and the campaigns and what-not will be taken care of by people...but those people are us!

People in Illinois have an especially handy resource for finding where to get involved:

If anyone has something like this for another state or region, let's hear it!

5. When the Dems do win, BTW, get ready to defend them
against what will be an onslaught of voter fraud claims and charges from the RW and the media.

Because, if by some miracle we do win, that is what will happen.

And the RW just might set it up.

6. you're right--I'm all for the good news but I also remember people
were convinced that Kerry would win in '04, too. Let's wait until the votes are counted to proclaim victory.

back and relax?

I think not.

9. Oh no - the opposite is true.
Why do you think B*sh went so far out of his way to say he was sure the congress was going to stay GOP the other day?? ANd he is sure not the only gop'er to do that.

This is certainly NOT a time to be defensive - at all.

You know how to win?? - You don't let up - get the guy on the ground and just keep kicking the snot out of him - thats how to win.

Not in just elections either.

I'll tell you something else I think - when people do come to the conclusion of which really is the winning side - they will go with that side.

We came out defensive the past few elections - and we got the snot kicked out of us - not this time.

Joe

11. Absolutely!
Because if we don't, we could very well end up going into the elections with 15 point leads everywhere and still lose them all! Hell, that may happen anyway with our voting machines!
