Here we are enduring the world's worst f'ing NIGHTMARE thanks to him, and this gooberpuss is grinning at us, with a sort of surprised look on his face to boot. Is he startled that a child would even SPEAK to him? Is he amused and surprised that he's getting away with all of it?

Somehow I see a tiny touch of uncertainty in that look, too, though. Makes me wonder if he's not just a teeny bit worried that the curtain will ring down on his bad act soon -- and land squarely on him.

60. Ugh. I've met Mac Collins on occasion -

I used to live in the same small Georgia town he's from and it's where I'm still registered to vote absentee. Collins is an ass.

Oddly, I used to be in a Republican district even though my Georgia voting address hasn't changed - but through gerrymandering I've gone from having an address in a Republican district to a Democratic one. My Democratic Congressman, Jim Marshall, is just holding on in a heavily Republican district and I'm wondering if he can do it again this election.

It's worrying to me that the Republicans have pulled the Dumbass down to that part of Georgia to campaign for Collins. I know that Marshall has raised a lot more money and he's ahead in the polls, but he's not ahead by much and that's such a redneck part of Georgia that Bush's appearance might be enough to push the undecideds into the Republican column. I hope not, but I'd be more comfortable if Marshall had a more commanding lead.

The other thing about Marshall is that he voted aye on the torture bill. I e-mailed him saying that although I could never, ever vote for a Republican, I was having second thoughts about voting for him because he sided with the Republicans on the torture issue. I received a reply from his aide asking for my postal address because Rep. Marshall wanted to respond to me via snail mail. I haven't received a letter from him yet (and even though I'm now in the UK, it's had plenty of time to get here), so maybe he doesn't care if he gets my vote or not.
