This has been such a long and exhausting fight against Alito (not to mention the past five years of fighting Bush!). I thought a few inspiring words may help people get through the day...
Here they are:
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Leadership does not always wear the harness of compromise." Woodrow Wilson
"What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog." - Dwight D. Eisenhower
"Never, never, never give up." - Winston Churchill
"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult." - Seneca
"Always do right - this will gratify some and astonish the rest." - Mark Twain
"True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what's right." - Brigham Young
"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." - Buckminster Fuller
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
"True peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of Justice" - Martin Luther King
"There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest." - Elie Wiesel
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
