Legislators gone wild! (pic, too funny)

The last couple of issues of the Buffalo BEAST, the funniest political rag in existence, they've been all over Tom Reynolds. This one has an editorial about how Reynolds is a sure loser at this point, and a hilarious "Relief for Reynolds" bit where they collect canned goods for Tom, because he's not a "millionaire" (his epithet for Jack Davis, his Dem opponent), including transcripts of their dorr-to-door encounters. Last issue (pre-Foley) there was an excellent piece skewering Reynolds' ads, which go beyond misleading into out and out lying.

It also covers the repeal of habeas corpus, something the MSM seems uninterested in, in surprisingly humorous fashion. The editor gives us the story of his future arrest, and their "horoscopes" this issue are a series of dark jokes about our police state future. They also slam local dem rep Brian Higgins for voting for the bill as "The Beast page 3 incredibly full of shit asshole."

Tell me we don't need more of this kind of uncompromising work to counteract all of the BS we are inundated with daily. I don't know why these guys work in Buffalo, but it's maybe the best thing about living here. I recommend a subscription to all non-Buffalonians. Remember, these are the guys responsible for the "50 Most Loathsome Americans" lists you see every year.
