2. not so easy

with each impeachment there would be a nomination for replacement - since the nomination would be made by the GOP admin (be it bush or cheney) the nomination would not be a dem - even if there was a dem controlled senate. Best hopes would be a moderate repub (to get through a dem senate) - Hagel? Lugar? McCain? rinse and repeat for the second impeachment. It wouldn't get to the place were the Speaker of the House (Pelosi, in your scenario) would be put into place as the third in succession.

Maybe this is where ole Joe Lieberman tries to squeeze into the WH?
