1. Hastert's district was drawn with the intention
That he could, oh say, cover up for pedophile congressman, hell, even be a pedophile congressman, and still be reelected.

2. So his constituency, whether "redistricted" or not, likes sexual predator
enablers? My guess is that he could be in REAL trouble regardless of redistricting. But I don't know for sure. That's why I'm asking.

5. i`m at ground zero in the 14th and from what i see
he will get reelected but by a smaller margin. there are republicans that are disgusted with heavy d but not enough to effect the outcome.

8. Well, that's too bad.
Of course when we sweep the House he will be known as persona non grata fat Denny. Doubt if the Pukes will elect him MINORITY leader after this fiasco.

6. Just keep calling him "internet predator enabler" instead of

"speaker of the house".

7. Hastert is safe in Illinois
Daley is behind him 100%. The local talk shows say he is safe and both the Trib and SunTimes are going very easy on him.

I do not see him losing his seat.

11. If you watch the nightly Chicago Tonight on PBS,
you would see all the Chicago pundits not even considering the idea that Hastert is in trouble. They may talk about Foley's effect on Duckworth's and Bean's races, but they consider it to be a non-issue on Hastert's re-election.

10. No, he's safe
But certainly, some folks may stay home and not vote.

12. That could change. If Republicans lose the House, he won't be Min. Leader
I can't see the caucus rewarding Hastert with a leadership post--or Boehner taking a demotion--if he loses this election for them.
