HAYWORTH LACKING SUPPORT
Incumbents Endorsement List Embarrassingly Small

TEMPE As U.S. Congressional candidate Harry Mitchell continues to earn key high-profile endorsements, including a large number of Republicans and local elected officials, 12-year Washington politician J.D. Hayworth is having trouble earning support from even those in his own party.

According to the endorsement page on Hayworths campaign Web site, just 32 days before the Nov. 7 election, Hayworth has earned the following endorsements:

4. Isn't he sort of a Rush Limbaugh clone?
To me, he looks and sounds just like a younger Rush. I think he's said that Rush has been his idol and role model.

6. Yes, and he probably would even look like him, but he stapled his
stomach to his asshole, (probably with tribal funds ) so he looks like artifically tanned rawhide glued to a skelyeton.

Hannity used to be a local talk show guy in Atlanta and he's awful, arrogant and humorless.

Limbaugh meanwhile is just awful and arrogant. He does have a sense of humor though.

5. Did you hear that 20% of Dems are "crossing over" to vote for
Kyle? What the hell is up with that? If that's true, do these idiots need defibrilator paddles?

8. I heard one of the local election analysts saying it here on Channel 8.
She didn't seem to have any biased agenda. I about fell off my chair when she said that. Something about the county heavily republican or something.

But if they're registered Dems, they sure as hell need a talking to!

I'm not kidding on this, they said that's what their poll results were showing :puke: Put on your detective hat, maybe we need to be giving the finger to some of these Dems.

15. He's A Definite Target In '08
People here expect there to be solid Democratic parties in every district, but that's not the case. Unfortunately in many areas the party fell way behind the local GOOP operations that focused on the South, West & Midwest and soon dominated. We're just a year and a half into Dr. Dean's 50-state plan that has helped us start to make up ground, but this shows how much further we have to go.

I'm right outside Hastert's district and people here are hoping this scandal will be enough to propel his challenger...a political novice (but better than no candidate at all) into the limelight, but with very little field organization, no media budget or any message other than "I'm not him". Even if we win that seat by default, the victory would be short-lived. Pulling money from other competitive races nearby just dilutes ongoing efforts that could mean better and longer lasting results.

Immigration is a Repugnican manufactured issue...just like gay marriage was...it was designed to trap Democrats into being "Mexican lovers" and "weak on defense". Instead it divided Repugnicans between the racists and those who want the cheap labor...the Democrats are caught inbetween the crossfire. Nationally immigration isn't a major issue on the Democrat's radar cause its far behind Iraq, the economy, health care and now corruption as issues that this election will turn on. The Repugnicans play with that issue (and, yes, there is a problem) and the GOOP has managed to position itself on both sides of an issue it made up and "owns"...and in some cases...like in Heyworth's its working. Inversely, Santorum tried the same game in Pennsylvania and it got nowhere.

Hayworth is an empty suit who has a nice future in hate radio waiting him...hopefully he'll be the next B-1 Bob Dornan...outta sight and outta mind in '08.

Hopefully with some solid pick-ups this year, efforts can be made to target the next 10 or 20 districts and Heyworth will be near the top of that list.

Cheers...

from the Arizona Republic:

Attack commercials fail to dent Kyl's lead in Senate race

Robbie Sherwood
The Arizona Republic
Sept. 27, 2006 12:00 AM

U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl is holding off Democratic challenger Jim Pederson despite a round-the-clock onslaught of pointed attack commercials, according to a new poll.

A survey of "most-likely voters" gave Kyl a lead of 49 percent to 38 percent over Pederson, while Libertarian Richard Mack garnered 2 percent and 11 percent were undecided. The poll was conducted by the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

(snip)

"Kyl is winning the crossover battle," Merrill said. "Only 10 percent of Republicans are crossing over to support Pederson, while 19 percent of Democrats support Kyl."

There are probably other articles, but this one was easy to find in Google News.

26. I'm not alleging anything.
About a week ago, there was a local group of election poll takers on a local PBS segment and this woman (apparently thought to have a fairly credible authority on election trends) said clear as a bell...our statistics show 20% of Dems are "crossing over" to vote for Kyle.

They were discussing why Kyle was still leading in the polls and going down each candidate on the list in Arizona, and that's what she said.

I was only paying half attention until she said that and then I nearly fell off my chair. I wasn't drinking and this woman didn't appear to be no nut case.

Other than that, I'm just reporting what I saw.

The crickets can do whatever they like with that now.
