Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 10:40 AM by MrScorpio
Right wingers love to claim that the 2nd Amenedment is necessary for armed citzens to rebel against an oppressive government.
Aren't these people advocating sedition? Isn't that illegal? Who's to say that the goverment is being oppressive? Does that include some right-wing, gun-laden, home grown militia who has members who run off half-cocked and blow up government buildings?
And the limits that are set, why can't a law abiding citzen own 50. cal machine guns? Aren't they protected to?
BTW, how many gun murders are committed in the USA vs. the rest of western civilzation?
The answers lie in there

Witness the siege at David Koresh's rape ranch.
Militias were a way of having the citizenry ready to fight wars for the federal government. Which is what the National Guard is doing now.
Basically, there is a deep emotional need to have a weapon for "self-protection." The rationalizations and justifications follow from that emotional need.

But if you listen to these fuckers, you hear that they're advocating armed rebellion.
That's illegal.
Of course, the gubmint with its overwhelming firepower will make these people crispy critters.
I guess that they'll suicidal too
