I'm not impressed and fairly scared because this guy is supposed to be their 'go to' guy?
Kind of knarly about Brent Skowcroft.

36. "It's not fair... it's not fair... it's not fair."
This is the main thing I remember about him when he could come out to that podium and open his nasty pie-hole. He would preface every vile speech he made with that nasally twang saying "It's not fair..."

Well guess what, Baker-fuck... it sure wasn't fair! :grr:

4. is this the same James "what PNAC needs is a New Pearl Harbor
Baker?" I recall hearing this along with catastrophic and catalyzing event (911) to advance the goals of PNAC.
Also didn't he and Jimmy Carter team up recently to promote something?

I'd like to know...

Thanks

8. Baker is the brains behind "Voter ID", which is one House re-vote
and one Senate vote away from disfranchising at least 11 million people in 2008.

18. The language of the bill that passed the House is flexible on everything
but the date. The NY Times mentioned the specific ID requirements in its lead editorial September 21st. There's a great DU thread on this at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2184544 .

If this goes through and the USSC doesn't follow the lead of state courts that overturned "Voter ID" in GA amd MO this year, IMO it's goodbye 2-party system, hello permanent corporate one-party rule.

22. thanks again for the prompt reply.. now I see what the ID is about
why should we have to show ID? all my life I voted without ever needing my ID although I do show my driver's license to expedite my wait.

Next year we here in NY will be using electronic machines all my life I pulled the "lever".

Thanks for the link,,

24. "Voter ID" is far and away the most devilishly deceptive policy proposal
I've ever heard of. Baker must be really proud of operating at a level where thousands of people who think they're well-informed don't realize they are puppets and Baker is the puppeteer. Evidently, Baker even fooled Jimmy Carter on "Voter ID", and fair elections administration is one of Carter's international specialties.

You almost have to admire Baker's evil genius.

Looks like I've missed the first half-hour, but I'd have missed the whole thing without your post. Thanks. I nominate Jim Baker for permanent "Worst Person in the World".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OT: babylonsister, did you contact John Laesch's Congressional campaign and do some work for his media coordinator? One of his counterparts (challenging the Congressman whose Page was the Predatorgate whistleblower) evidently needs much more help than Laesch -- browse through http://www.hearnforcongress.com . Very scattered, unfocused, and does not even mention the Predatorgate coverup, the only issue that might give her a chance of winning.

9. I once stuck a picture up on my cork board of him in the 80s
and wrote underneath it, "This is the most dangerous man in the World".

These days I need to replace him with ROVE, updated..

Here's a question Rose can ask him, "Where do you get off DEFENDING the Saudis in a Law Suit AGAINST them brought about my the FAMILIES of the 911 Victims? What kind of scummy asshole ARE YOU?"

replace Condi at State, with a mission to wind down the Iraq invasion while keeping the maximum amount of Iraqi oil reserves possible for US companies.

19. This is Baker's third appearance this week...On Imus, NPR with Terry
Gross and now with Charlie Rose. Maybe he was somewhere else, too. He's really in campaign mode for his new job. What will it be? Secretary of Defense, State or VP?

Dear God...I can't imagine that going down too well. He's remembered by so many folks as the Bush Fixer... When he comes in things usually get worse, though. Poppy lost re-election after he brought Baker in to help him in desperation...

21. "Defense, State, or VP"? Who's in the most hot water from "State of
Denial", Rumsfeld, Condi, or Cheney?

I'd say Condi. Her lies and incompetence are clearly on record, in video and in op-eds she foolishly published in the years after 9/11.

Edited on Sat Oct-07-06 02:50 AM by impeachdubya
on CNN because I knew this was something historic. Once, a couple years ago, I dug out the tape and watched it. I have no idea if this was part of CNN's re-broadcast of their coverage, but the part of the tape I remember most was weird: It was James Baker being interviewed, god knows why- and the one point he really wanted to make was "Well, obviously, because of this Americans are going to have to get used to fewer civil liberties".

He sounded fucking ecstatic about it.

30. the devil
theres a theory, almost completely unfounded, that Baker and the CIA GAVE FRANK ZAPPA PROSTATE CANCER!

Because in the mid 80's during the rock record rating debates, Zappa made all the PMRC wives look like fools and those wives included Tipper Gore and Baker's wife.

Then Zappa goes on tour in 1988 and has voter registration drives at his shows.

Then a few years later, Zappa hires consultants to look into RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!

Then, he got sick. He had previously gone to his doctor and was MISDIAGNOSED about his PROSTATE CANCER! So is there a CIA connection to ZAPPA's incompetant Doctor and what does James Baker know about it?

-85% Jimmy

35. Addison James Baker III Should Be More Concerned...
... about whether or not BakerBotts will be bankrupted by the derivative lawsuits filed by Halliburton shareholders and other companies' shareholders against the law firm.

Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is very clear, and Jimmy Boy Baker has knowingly lied to the courts one too many times: http://www.law.cornell.edu/rules/frcp/Rule11.htm

Jimmy Boy Baker is going to go the same sad flameout route that Clark Clifford did: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark_Clifford

- David A. Smith, Editor of BushBunglesBrigade.org and HALwhistleblowers.org
(not to be confused with David R. Smith, VP of Tax at Halliburton)

To learn more about Jimmy Boy Baker's role at Halliburton, Dresser, and KBR: http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?company=smith+david+allen&CIK=&filenum=&State=&SIC=&owner=include&action=getcompany

If I were Jimmy Boy Baker or any of the other Kennebunkport Kleptocrats or Houston Hacks, I'd stay off the airwaves for a while. It's only a matter of time before an enterprising producer or reporter finishes his/her fact-checking, and shanghais Jimmy Boy Baker with an on-air question about his firm's role in the KBR spinoff.

"Jimmy Boy, you're doing a heckuva job."
