Why do people take Matt Drudge so seriously, even here?
I don't get it, this clown has been wrong so often it's ridiculous. Why are people getting so worked up over what he posts, even on DU? I mean, just take a look at some of his "exclusives" he currently has up. He still has the idiotic exclusive thing up where he claims that the page was 18 at the time of the IMs, but then has this little nugget at the very end of the article:

<<A network source explains, messages with the young man and disgraced former Congressman Foley took place before and after the 18th birthday.>> (I added the bold)

He's such an idiot that he contradicts his world exclusive crap with things he throws into his very own articles. And he rarely, if ever, actually backs up his sources?

Why take this clown seriously? Sure, he has a Freeper following that takes his words as seriously as if they were written in the Bible, but why worry about his stuff?

I posted his latest "scoop"
because it was so damn stupid. I have 0% belief that it is true. DOesn't mean it isn't worth seeing what the asshats are saying and believing.

3. You answered your own question
"Sure, he has a Freeper following that takes his words as seriously as if they were written in the Bible..."

6. Who cares what they think?
They embarrass themselves all the time by just making things up and/or repeating what others have made up. Does anyone think this Foley thing is going to magically going to go away because Matt Drudge updated his website?

but about when these things are then passed on to a non-Freeper, and so on.

The Freeper reads something made up on Drudge; he then tells a friend/acquaintance/co-worker who's not (or at least less of) a Freeper without mentioning that this shit came from Drudge; that person then tells others (because everyone loves feeling like they know something that others don't) who themselves are less Freeperish than the first, etc. Eventually, it becomes something that "everybody knows" and the fact that it originated with Drudge is lost... unless we are aware of all these stories when they first appear and can then stop the story in its tracks whenever one of those people in the grapevine brings it up.

"What's Drudge saying now?" = "What new lie do we need to be prepared to counter soon?"

8. I've never been to his website and never read his stuff
and I can't believe anyone does. I saw him profiled on MSM the other night and they said he leaned slightly Republican. What a joke. He's slime.
