He called Colin a plantation slave on CNN and Wolf tried to get him to retract. He pretty much called Colin a lying POS for his UN speech. Wow. That was fun. Anyone else see it?

How do we get hold of Belafonte? I want to offer him my support. He just got back from Venezuela where he was to quote Blitzer "ranting with Chavez about Bush." Funny, Blitzer seemed to think that was out of the ordinary. For someone to be ranting about Bush, I mean. What planet does he live on? All I ever hear are rants about Bush.

18. Blitzer is such an asshole

Belafonte said that if the Germans had stood up to Hitler when he first came to power and protested when they saw the first signs of dictatorship maybe history might have been changed, and Hitler would not have been able get away with causing the mayhem he did. Wolfman immediately tried to put words in Belafonte's mouth and shot back at Belafonte,"Are you saying the Jews are responsible for what happened to them in World War II?" (Or words to that effect).

What a dipstick. It was obvious Belafonte was comparing the situation in pre-war Germany to the US today where, as in Germany, the public is to a large extent ignoring the signs that their freedoms and constitutional protections are being chipped away, and if the necessary steps are not taken now to stop this trend it's possible that down the road there could be someone like a Hitler seize absolute dictatorial power in the USA. Should that happen, it would be too late to do anything about it and the US and the world would have to bear the consequences.

Either he was being intentionally obtuse, or Belafonte's thinking was too sophisticated for his tiny brain to comprehend (I suspect the former), as he immediately jumps on Belfonte with faux outrage trying to imply that Belafonte is suggesting the Jews brought their tribulations on themselves. Asshole doesn't even begin to describe the little twit.

the "ranting about Bush" label. It's dismissive and condescending. That's one reason why I wish Belafonte did it here in the U.S. and not in Venezuela because it gives the media a chance to ridicule his words. But yeah, the guy has some serious sand, no doubt. You gotta admire that.
