This is going to be insane, and can literally end up w/ Hastert out and the GOP on life-support this November because of this perfect storm of Foley/Woodward/Abramnoff coming through.It's going to get really, really ugly in the corporate media, but so be it; the train has left the station.

It will be an explosion. The guy is barely under control as it is. When he gets hit with questions about this stuff, I really don't think he will be able to maintain ANY modicum of control. I think the only way his handlers can avoid that happening is for them to keep him as far away from reports as possible. If they don't, look out!

This IS going to be a very interesting week, and I for one am looking forward even more to November. My only regret is that some of this had to come at the expense of those kids that Foley went after.

The immediate reaction to the detainee bill is just outright disgust, but the Europeans whom I know personally aren't exactly surprised. I believe our priority should be on being prepared to challenge at every turn that unconscionable dismantling of the Constitution. :grr:

And I wouldn't expect any less, but to me it's a Hail-Mary in the sense that it could conceivably work if this were adult victims instead of minors. The only thing that seemingly resonates w/ a swath of the American public is a sex scandal, and even they can understand why what Foley did was criminal and what Hastert and the GOP did as a cover-up immoral.

Hastert may get some subpoenas, but there's going to be more and more victims and background on just how extensive that cover-up was.

There's 2 cliches in politics; "It's the cover (not the crime) that gets you", and "never get caught w/ a dead woman or a live boy".

They are dealing w/ both of those right now, and I don't see them coming out of it w/ their power intact.
