Great conversation today with former rabid Bush supporter : )

She was a co-worker and left town but now is back and working at my office again. I haven't seen her for about 2 years and although we got along just fine, I distinctly remember her defense of Bush every time I'd bring up his sorry ass; we got in to it a couple of times.

So today, at a baby shower for a co-worker at lunch, we sat next to each other. Somehow or another, yesterday's mess came up and I called Bush a name then looked at her and said "sorry". She said "That's OK, you won't get any argument from me. Bush is an idiot and I should have listened to you a long time ago". Said she has had it with him and the war in Iraq, had it with everything. Someone else mentioned gas prices going down for the election and we all agreed everyone's so fed up and mad that it won't work to manipulate anyone.

I left lunch feeling good. All agreed Democrats must win in November to keep Bush from doing any more damage.

widespread vote suppression and machine rigging, just no other way for them to stay in control of Congress.

6. We said the same thing about Kerry in 2004

There were tons of anecdotes then too, but in the end all the trickling didn't help. If we want to win, we're going to need the millions of people who are too embarassed to admit they were wrong to vote for Bush on our side. Especially the ones who say they're voting Republican in a Republican area but will secretly mark the box for a Democrat. Nothing else will work.

That was my point. The question is: WILL they do it again while RFK Jr has the voting machine issue in court?

9. In one way I wish they would try to pull it again. but I think the issue

MAY be a little too hot for them. If they do use them, it will be in places they have the greatest control. like South Carolina, where I will bet that some Democrats lose their seats - but no one will suspect machines, as people will just accept it's South Carolina, even though Bush's actual support there has dropped considerably.
