WTF is going on? We're getting rid of the protections demanded by the Geneva Conventions, and even those defined in the Magna Carta?

Are we experiencing some sort of mass hysteria or mass psychosis? Maybe our bread flour is being produced from ergot infected grain? Could that be why so many people are so anxious to revive the horrors of the Dark Ages?

We cannot let them get away with this shit without a fight!

Please, Democratic Senators!.....FILIBUSTER THE FASCISTS!

1. This marks thread #1,194,706 attacking Dems who have no power
They can't filibuster 5 weeks before an election.

4. Exactly what "power" are you talking about?
ANY elected official who spits on their oath to defend the Constitution, including Democrats, isn't worth spit.

Fascism arrives in a many-colored coat. What stripe, exactly, are you defending? A (d) in front of, or behind their name doesn't count.

5. Nonsense! Just deny "unanimous consent"!!
It only takes one - with some support - and that person can tie an anchor to the tails of the Senate.

If it's not worth it when we pass a 'law' that allows people to be treated in ways you'd be arrested if treating an animal that way, then what is??

7. Why not?
And don't give me that "it's an election year" bullshit. It's about damn time that the Dems actually stood up on their hind legs and fought something. Filibuster, shut down the government, take to the bully pulpit, something, anything, but fight damn it! Instead, because they're afraid of being called "soft on something" they're selling you, me, and the rest of the world down the river.

Frankly, even though I saw this coming, I'm nauseated. The Dems continue to demonstrate that we operate under a two party/same corporate master system of government. It is high time that we changed that paradigm.

8. The have the power of their vote. The vote speaks volumes more
than being one of a majority. Even when you are in the minority a vote speaks. Some of the most important votes in history have been dissenting votes. I don't care if they can't WIN, they CAN dissent and do what is morally right at the same time. No, they don't get a pass on this one as far as I'm concerned. Those who voted for this travesty have truly and knowingly failed this nation and its people. They have failed to defend the Constitution.

6. Reviving the horrors of the Dark Ages?
Sure. Why not? Small price to pay for all Milquetoasts who fear Chris Matthews might call them a bad name on national teevee.
