thousands of welcoming Africans in 1998. It's the 3rd of three pictures on the page. Notice there's not a Secret Service man in sight, and both Clintons are highly visible in a huge open area, with not a plastic bulletproof screen around. Back in olden days when the world loved, honored and respected our president.

(I'm studying up on Ghana because I just got the chance to go there next February with a volunteer group building a medical clinic.)

2. You'll love it
in Ghana...the people, the ambience, the culture. W.E.B. Dubois' remains are there along with those of his wife, with an attached sort of library pertaining to them. The Black Star on the city's entrance arch commemorizes Marcus Garvey and his Black Star steamer line. Of course, you'll have to go to Cape Coast and other sites from where Africans were shipped away, never to see their homeland again. And the people are great.

3. Thanks for the comments
I have a bunch of details to work out, plus lots of innoculations - ouch! But I have never been to Africa, and how much better it will be to work on a project there rather than zip in with some high-priced safari tour.
